Alternative 1: Five land use classifications were developed: Conservation (CONSV), Developed (DEV),
Developable by 2025 (DEV2025), Water (H2O), and Stewardship (STEWARD) . Stewardship Lands
combine agricultural and forests except steep slopes and poor soils were reclassified into Conservation.
Stewardship Lands are meant for the production of food and fiber. Developed Land consists of already
developed land. Developed 2025 consists of land to be developed by the year 2025 by proximity to roads,
existing sewers, and poor soils near existing development. Water conservation areas also consist of
preservation buffers that maintain the integrity of hydrological features. The classification scheme in this
option produces a housing density of 6.2 DUs per acre (see Table 1 below.)

Alternative 2: This map depicts four land use classifications: Conservation (CONSV), Developed
(DEV), Water (H2O), and Stewardship (STEWARD). Developable by 2025 (DEV2025) was eliminated
as a category and those lands were reclassified as Conservation. The rest of the criteria and acreages
for the land classifications stayed the same. This strategy focuses accommodation of expected 2025
population growth into already developed areas of Beta Hill, effectively increasing the overall density
to 16.3 DUs per acre (see Table 2 for more information).

Alternative 3: This map depicts five land use classifications: Conservation (CONSV), Developed
(DEV), Developable by 2025 (DEV2025), Water (H2O), and Stewardship (STEWARD) . Development
for 2025 was included in this alternative with the goal of offering some room for growth expansion near
the city. The rest of the 2025 development would be located in satellite communities that focus on the
production of food and fiber in Stewardship Lands. The rest of the land classifications stayed the same.
The overall density of dwelling units decreased to 4.7 DUs per acre with the promotion of urban
agriculture (see Table 3).
