STATEMENT OF FAITH . . . The Apostles’ Creed We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day He arose from the dead, He ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

The Mission of the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical,
emotional and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through word and deed. At every level of the connection and in every local church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church shall engage in carrying out the
spirit of the original Free African Society, out of which the A.M.E. Church evolved: that is, to seek out and save the lost, and
serve the needy through a continuing program of (1) preaching the gospel, (2) feeding the hungry, (3) clothing the naked, (4)
housing the homeless, (5) cheering the fallen, (6) providing jobs for the jobless, (7) administering to the needs of those in prison, hospitals, nursing homes, asylums and mental institutions, senior citizens’ homes; caring for the sick, the shut-in, the
mentally and socially disturbed, and (8) encouraging thrift and economic advancement.
He never received a formal education,
yet he lectured at Harvard. He grew up
in a gypsy camp outside London, yet he
was invited to the Whitehouse by two
different presidents. Gypsy Smith was
powerfully used of God preaching to mil-
lions as he crisscrossed the Atlantic
Ocean forty-five times. Everywhere he
went, it seemed like revival was on his
heels. Gypsy revealed his secret to a
delegation of revival seekers that asked
him how they could make a difference
with their lives the way he had with his.
His answer was simple yet profound—
as timely and timeless now as it was a
hundred years ago.
Go home. Lock yourself in your
room. Kneel down in the middle of
the floor, and with a piece of chalk,
draw a circle around yourself. There,
on your knees, pray fervently and
brokenly that God would start a
revival within that chalk circle.
The goal of Draw the Circle: The 40-Day
Prayer Challenge is to help readers
establish a daily prayer habit. Through
forty true, faith-building stories of God's an-
swers to prayer, daily scriptures and prayer
prompts, Batterson inspires you to pray and
keep praying like never before. Begin a
lifetime of watching God work. Believe in the
God who can do all things.
Experience the power of bold prayer and
even bolder faith in “Draw the Circle”.

THE SONG OF PRAISE “Bless the Lord/Son of Man” by Tye Tribbett
Son of Man. Son of Righteousness. King of the earth for sinners slain.
I was lost, in darkness bound. You ransomed my heart and I will sing!
My strength, my Redeemer. The One who rescued me.
My hope, my Deliverer. You’re love has set me free!
Bless the Lord, O my soul. Bless the Lord, O my soul. (Repeat)
In the splendor of Your Majesty—from deep within my spirit sings, Holy, Holy!
THE PRAYER THE CHORAL RESPONSE Bethel B.A.S.I.C. Gospel Choir
“More Than Anything” Lamar Campbell
I lift my hands in total adoration unto You. You reign on the throne.
For You are God and God alone. Because of You my cloudy days are gone.
I can sing to you this song. I just want to say that I love You more than anything.
You hold me in Your arms. You are my shelter from the storm.
When all my friends were gone. You were right there all along.
I’ve never known a love like this before.
I just want to say that I love You more than anything.
I love You, Jesus. I worship and adore You.
Just want to tell You—Lord, I love You more than anything.
THE GENERAL CONFESSION Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all men,
we acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness which we from time to
time most grievously have committed by thought, word and deed against Your divine
Majesty, provoking most justly Your wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly
repent and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of them is
grievous unto us.
Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father for Your Son our Lord
Jesus Christ’s sake; forgive us all that is past and grant that we may ever hereafter serve
and please You in newness of life, to the honor and glory of Your name, through Jesus
Christ our Lord, Amen.

THE SCRIPTURE “The Transfiguration” Matthew 17:1-9 . 1 Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led
them up a high mountain, by themselves.
2 And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his
clothes became dazzling white.
3 Suddenly there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.
4 Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if you wish, I will make
three dwellings here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
5 While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from
the cloud a voice said, "This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen
to him!"
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell to the ground and were overcome by fear.
7 But Jesus came and touched them, saying, "Get up and do not be afraid."
8 And when they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus himself alone.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus ordered them, "Tell no one about
the vision until after the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."
