WHEN KING JEHOSHAPHAT LEARNS THE MOABITES AND AMMONITES ARE COMING TO ATTACK JUDAH, HE PROCLAIMS A FAST.
THE SPIRIT OF GOD COMES ON JAHAZIEL, SON OF ZECHARIAH.
ASSURED OF GOD’S VICTORY, JEHOSHAPHAT APPOINTS MEN TO SING PRAISES AS THEY LEAD THE ARMY INTO BATTLE.
AS THE JUDEAN ARMY WATCHES, GOD CONFUSES THEIR ENEMIES, WHO FIGHT AND KILL EACH OTHER.
THE PEOPLE PRAISE GOD FOR WINNING THE BATTLE FOR THEM.
Lord, are You not the God in heaven? We have no power to face this vast army.
We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on
You.
Listen! This is what God says: “Do not be
afraid or discouraged. The battle is not yours,
but God’s.
“Tomorrow, march down
against them. You will not have to fight. Go out to face them,
and God will be with you.”
Give thanks to the Lord—For His
love endures forever!
