Early Decision doesn’t work for alt ed students, they need more Chabot contact during the year (quarterly) and case management approach (share ED data with HS counselors)

June 18, 2018: R4 Counselor Convening

Counselor Challenges: Communication w/Chabot departments, limited time to support students, need relationship with Chabot

Student Challenges: parent engagement, getting info & accessing resources, navigating school structures, mindset (not “college material”

February 11, 2019: R4 Transition Support planning meeting

Identified a desire to bring small groups of resilient students to campus for warm hand-off to special programs, fin aid and registration, increase “college culture” awareness
