WorkshopLong Term Effects of Radiation
10th September 2012 in Mainz, Germany
Intrinsic Radiation Sensitivity:Identification, Mechanisms & Epidemiology
The health effects of ionizing radiation are of concern among a growing number of scientists, medical doctors and citizens worldwide. The Intrinsic Radiation Sensitivity: Identification, Mechanisms and Epidemiology (ISIMEP) network, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany, is glad to announce its second workshop on long term effects of radiation.
The workshop is organized into six sessions held within one day. In the morning, there will be four epidemiological presentations on secondary cancer after radiotherapy, on cardiovascular late effects and on lens opacities. The fifth and sixth lecture in the afternoon will be given on radiation biology of circulatory diseases and aspects of low-level exposure to radiation.
In order to stimulate intense discussions, the total attendance is limited to 50 persons.
