BASIC FACTS

• Koala bears are mammals.• Koala bears live for 17 years.• Koala bears are 2 feet tall.• Koala bears have soft wool-like fur that is gray

above and white below. Their fur is mostly white on the underside below the neck.

•Habitat stretches across Australia.• Today they can be found only in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.

• Koalas like eucalyptus leaves and bark from 12 different eucalyptus tree species.

• They also eat mistletoe and box leaves

PLACE IN FOOD CHAIN

• Their predator is foxes, powerful owls, dingo, eagles and pythons• And humans also hunt them• Koalas are herbivores ( plant eaters)• They are at the bottom of the food chain.

WHY IS THIS ANIMAL ENDANGERED?

Once numbering 1,0000, koalas are suffering majorly in population during 1920s when they were hunted for their fur. Today, habitat destruction , traffic deaths and attacks by dogs are the main cause of death. WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELPDON’T KILL KOALAS , PLEASE DON’T, THEY HAVE FEELINGS TO.
