IntroductionAlkaline dry cell(alkaline battery): a type of dry cell dependent upon the reaction between zinc and manganese dioxide (Zn/MnO2).

The origination of its name: the electrolyte(KOH) is alkalineits non-fluid electrolyte

The half-reaction are:Anode: Zn(s) + 2OH−

(aq) → ZnO(s) + H2O(l) + 2e− Cathode: 2MnO2(s) + H2O(l) + 2e− →Mn2O3(s) + 2OH−
