TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: This is to certify that the undersigned surveyor at the request
of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, attended
the powerboat in and out of the water on the 5th day of May in the year 2016, at Chesapeake
Marine Service, 114 Carroll Island Road, Middle River, Maryland, and did survey said vessel for
Mr. xxxxxxxxxx, while representing his interest in obtaining marine insurance
The vessel is a Sea Ray Sundancer 320, built by Sea Ray Boats, located at 2600 Sea Ray Blvd.,
Knoxville, TN, 37914, (telephone number 800-648-8535), in the year 2005, as hull identification
number US-xxxxxxxxxxxx. The vessel’s approximate measurements are: LOA 35’6”, HULL
LENGTH 32’0”, BEAM 11’5”, DRAFT 2’9”, WEIGHT 13,200 lb., and CLEARANCE 10’2”.
The vessel’s registration number is MD4770CE. This particular model was in production from
2003 until 2007. The vessel’s documentation number is xxxxxxxx, which will expire September
30, 2016.
ALL MAJOR HULL MEMBERS, wherever accessible, together with all surfaces, joints, bonds,
fillets, webs, bulkheads, and hard curve areas were carefully inspected with particular care being
devoted to areas of normal stress concentrations and possible bulkheads or other hard spots. Field
methods of sounding and visual sighting were used. Also, the use of a moisture meter to
determine the moisture content of the hull, decks, and other areas which could retain moisture
causing damage to the vessel.
HULL CONSTRUCTION: the vessel was built on a fiberglass deep-V hull and constructed
with vinylester resin and fiberglass mat. The hull’s exterior finishing is a gel coat glazing. The
deck and cabin top was built as a one-piece unit and bonded to the hull at the vessel’s sheer. The
deck is of a sandwiched core and fiberglass construction. I have noted the following:
a) The fiberglass to resin ratio is good.
b) The resin appears to have cured well.

c) The tabbing accessible for inspection appears to be in good order and well secured to the hull
supports and structural members.
d) The engine beds are in good condition with no signs of separation or structural fatigue.
e) The foredeck is solid and in good, structural condition with no significant delamination or
voids.
f) The cabin top appears to be solid and in good, structural condition with no significant voids or
delamination.
g) The catwalks appear to be solid and in good, structural condition with no significant voids or
delamination.
h) The aft deck appears to be solid.
i) The bridge deck was found to be solid with no significant delamination or voids.
j) The hull appears to be in good condition with no signs of damage or distortion. The gel coat
holds a good shine.
k) The hull to deck seam appears to be in good condition with no signs of damage or separation.
l) The transom appears to be solid and in good order with no structural defects noted.
m) No visual signs of blisters on the bottom of the hull. No voids were found in the hull lay-up.
No signs of damage, major repairs or hard grounding.

n) The deck supports accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition.
o) The hull stringers accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition with no signs of
stress or separation or structural fatigue. There was very limited accessibility for a proper
inspection, due to the design and layout of the vessel.
p) The bulkheads appear to be in good, structural condition.
q) The interior shows well and in like new condition.
MACHINERY: said vessel is powered by twin MerCruiser Horizon 350 MPI, fresh water
cooled, V-drive, gasoline engines. The port engine’s serial number is xxxxxxxx. The starboard
engine’s serial number is xxxxxxxx. I have noted the following:

MACHINERY (cont.)
a) The water intake hoses for both engines are in good condition. The hoses are double hose
clamped.
b) The water circulation hoses are in good condition.
c) The exhaust hoses are in good condition. The exhaust system is double hose clamped as per
ABYC standard P-1.7.10 sections 1, 2, and 3.
d) The risers are in good condition.
e) The water jackets are in good condition.
f) Boots are installed to cover the starter cable terminal ends as per ABYC standard E-11.5.4.7.5.
g) The linkage appears to be in good order.
h) The wiring appears to be in good condition.
i) The engines are equipped with flame arresters as per U.S.C.G. regulation 182.157 sections b &
c and ABYC standard P-4.6.15.19.
j) The engine belts appear to be in fair condition.
k) The motor mounts are in good condition. They are the original.
l) The fiberglass mufflers appear to be well secured and in good condition. Refer to the sea trial
for additional comments.

GENERATOR: 5 kW Kohler generator, serial number is xxxxxxx. The unit appears to have
been professionally installed. I have noted the following:
a) The water intake hoses are in good condition. The hose is not double hose clamped.
b) The exhaust hoses are in good condition. The exhaust system is double hose clamped.
c) The fiberglass muffler is well secured and in good order.
d) The down pipe and exhaust nipple are in good condition.
e) The starter cable is covered.
f) The unit is equipped with a flame arrester.
g) There generator appears to have been properly wired.
h) Refer to sea trial for operation of the generator.
GALVANIC PROTECTION: the vessel is equipped with sacrificial anode protection. The
zincs are in good condition. The vessel does have a bonding system.
STEERING SYSTEM: Sea Star hydraulic steering system. The tie rod arm, tiller arms, linkage,
and other mechanical fittings accessible for inspection appear to be in good condition. The
steering system appears to be in good order, and all appear to have been properly installed. The
reservoir fluid was low. Refer to the sea trial for actual operation.

ELECTRONICS: the electronics appear to have been factory or yard installed. The vessel is
equipped with Raymarine VHF, console mounted depth finder, Garmin 741 GPS, mph console
gauge, and a Ritchie compass which is in good condition. Refer to sea trial for operation.
RUDDERS: cast bronze rudders. The rudders appear to be straight and in good condition. There
was no play in the rudder shaft logs.
PROPS: the port prop is 17 x 18.3, four-blade, Nibrel prop. The starboard prop is 17 x 18 four-
blade, Nibrel prop. The props are in good condition. When tested, the blades ran out true.
SHAFTS: 1.5” stainless steel shafts. The shafts appear to be in good condition. The shafts
appear to be straight, and there were no pitting from stray current. The targeting of both shafts
were found to be satisfactory.

CUTLASS BEARINGS: the bearings have uneven wear.
STRUTS: well secured to the hull.
SHAFT PACKING GLANDS: dripless packing glands. The packing glands appear to have
been properly installed and in good condition. Refer to the sea trial for additional comments.
TRIM TABS: the trim tabs are well secured to the transom and no stray current damaged noted
at the time of my inspection. I did not detect any signs of hydraulic leaks. Refer to the sea trial for
operation.
VENTILATION: does meet all requirements as per U.S.C.G. regulation 183.620 and ABYC
standard H-2.5.4.1. The ventilation system is natural forced air with two inline blowers. The
blowers did work at time of survey. The ventilation hoses are in good condition.
FUEL SYSTEM: the vessel is equipped with two aluminum fuel tanks with a capacity of
approximately 101 gallons each. I have noted the following:
a) The deck fill ports are properly marked as per ABYC standard H-24.12.3.
b) The tanks are vented. The vent hoses are in good condition.
c) The fuel tanks are grounded.
d) The fuel fill hoses are type A-2 hose. The hoses appear to be in good condition. Both ends

FUEL SYSTEM (cont.)
of the hoses are double hose clamped. However, there was very limited access to the hoses
for a proper inspection.
e) The fuel feed hoses are type A-1 hose. The hoses are in good condition.
f) The fuel tanks appear to be in good condition with no visual signs of leaks. I would
recommend having the fuel tanks pressure tested.
g) The installation of the fuel tanks does comply with ABYC standard H-24.10.
h) The two electric solenoids appeared to be in good working order.
ELECTRICAL:
12 VOLT SYSTEM - negative ground system with a circuit breaker panel, two Guest on and off
battery switches, and a 30 amp Intel Power PD 20/30 battery charger. The battery charger was
properly installed. I have noted the following:
a) The vessel is equipped with four Series 31 acid plate batteries.
b) The batteries are secured to the hull as per ABYC standard E-10.7.4. The positive terminal
ends are properly covered as required by ABYC standard E-11.5.2.7.5.
c) I did not detect any wiring violations and/or safety hazards with the 12 volt system.
d) The cabin lights worked at time of survey.

ELECTRICAL (cont.)
120 VOLT SYSTEM - single 30 amp single phase system with a circuit breaker panel. The
wiring does meet ABYC standard E-11. The shore power system appears to have been factory
installed. There were no signs of overheating at the back of the panel or on the shore power inlet.
The galley and head are equipped with GFI receptacles. The single 30 amp yellow shore power
cord is in good condition.
AIR CONDITIONER: the vessel is equipped with a 12,000 BTU Cruisaire unit, serial number
50267865. The water intake hose in good condition. The hose is not double hose clamped. The
unit appears to have been properly wired and adequately vented.
BILGE PUMPS: the aft bilge is equipped with two Rule 1500 pumps with a float switch and
high water alarm. The pumps are secured to the hull. The pumps are properly wired. The pumps
worked at time of the survey. The discharge hoses are in good condition.

BILGE: oil film in bilge at time of my inspection.
PLUMBING: the hoses and lines appear to have been properly ran throughout the vessel. All of
the hoses below the waterline are not double hose clamped. The drains, faucets, and fixtures
appear to be in fair condition.
The Shur Flo pressurized water pump appears to have been factory installed and in good
condition. The Rule 800 sump pump with a float switch and installed in a self-contained unit
appears to have been properly installed and in good condition.
The vessel is equipped with one plastic fresh water tank with a capacity of approximately 40
gallons. The Attwood 6 gallon hot water heater, serial number 93890020745, appears to have
been properly installed and in satisfactory condition.
GALLEY: the appliances have been factory installed. The galley is equipped with the following:
a) Single Corian sink with a faucet for cold and hot pressurized water. The drain hose is in good
condition.
b) The AC/DC Norcold refrigerator is well secured to the hull and properly installed. The
Norcold refrigerator installed on the aft deck appears to be in good order.
c) The Kenyon electric two-burner stove is well secured to the countertop.
d) The LG microwave oven well secured and like new condition.

HEAD: the vessel is equipped with a Vac-u-flush marine toilet with a 28 gallon plastic holding
tank. The discharge hoses are in good condition. The water feed line is in good condition.
SEACOCKS, STRAINERS, AND THRU-HULL FITTINGS: the seacocks are not readily
accessible and the handles are not easy to operate as per ABYC standard H-27.6.3, except for the
engine seacocks. I have noted the following:
a) The flange bronze ball valves for the port and starboard engine water intakes are not easily
accessible. The valves were not tested for operation.
b) The flanged bronze ball valve for the generator worked.
c) The flanged bronze ball valve for the air conditioner water pump worked.
d) The Groco 1250 strainers for the engines, air conditioner, and generator were found to be in
good order.
e) The below the waterline thru-hulls appear to be well secured and in good condition; I did not
detect any signs of stray current. The above the waterline chrome thru-hull fittings are in good
order.
FIRE PROTECTION: ABYC standard A-4 Table II states that a vessel 32’ in length is required
to be equipped with three B-1 type, U.S.C.G. approved fire extinguishers, mounted in the
following locations: outside the engine compartment, steering position and galley, if equipped
with a stove, or passenger cockpit.
A Halon 1301 fire extinguisher is mounted in the engine compartment, which does not have a
current inspection. Two BC dry chemical fire extinguishers are mounted in the following

locations: in cockpit locker and in cabinet under the galley sink. The locker and cabinet do not
have ISO label for location of extinguishers. The carbon monoxide detector in the forward cabin
appear the original equipment. The vessel is not equipped with any smoke detectors.
DECK HARDWARE: the deck hardware, such as cleats, chocks, and railing, are well bonded
to the hull. As part of routine maintenance, the deck hardware should be pulled and rebedded in a
polysulfide compound.
NAVIGATION LIGHTS: the red and green bow lights, stern light, steaming light, and anchor
light worked at time of the survey. The search light did work. The remote for the search light did
work.
PORTS AND HATCHES: I have noted the following:
a) The forward hatch is well secured to the deck and in good condition with no signs of leaks.
b) The two round skylight hatches are secured to the deck.
c) The hull ports are in good condition.
d) The molded plastic sliding companionway door is in good condition and good working order.
e) The Taylor windshield is in good condition and well secured.
f) The anchor hatch is in good condition.
g) The electric engine hatch is solid with some delamination.
h) The deck hatches are in in good condition.
SWIM PLATFORM: molded core fiberglass platform, which is bolted to the transom. The
platform is solid.
CANVAS: the bimini and enclosure are new.

GROUND TACKLE: Plow type anchor with 5/16” chain and 5/8” three strand nylon line. The
ground tackle is in good condition. The ground tackle is properly sized for said vessel.
WINDLASS: the 12 volt Lofran windlass with foot switches and remote. The unit appears to
have been properly installed and well secured. Refer to sea trial report for comments on
operation.

RECOMMENDATIONS
STRUCTURAL ITEMS AND SAFETY ITEMS
a) Install smoke detectors and new carbon monoxide detectors.
b) Install extensions on the handles for the engine intake seacocks.
c) Install new fire extinguishers in the above given locations and have the Halon 1301 inspected.
Any fire extinguishers to be installed in a locker or cabinet door should be labeled for a fire
extinguisher.
d) Double hose clamp the seacock hoses for the generator and the air conditioner water intake
pump.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The preventive maintenance comments are not part of the report,
but a reminder of the discussion during the inspection.
a) As part of a preventive maintenance program, I would suggest rebedding all deck hardware
with polysulfide compound.
b) Bottom sample fuel tanks. Have the tanks scrubbed if necessary.
c) Spray motor mounts with W-D 40 or similar product. Keep oil of the rubber part of the
mounts.
d) Clean battery terminal ends.
e) Have both engines aligned.
f) Replace wiper blades.
SURVEYOR’S SUGGESTIONS
(as per conversation at survey and not part of recommendations or survey)
a) Install a raw water wash down pump for the windlass.
b) Install a trip line for the anchor with a fishing float.
c) Install an auto pilot.
d) Install Glendinning engine synchronizer.

COMMENTS
Said vessel surveyed out well and was found to be structurally sound at the time of my
inspection. The gel coat glazing holds a good shine, although slightly faded in the transom area.
Overall, the decks were good. The vessel appear to have been well maintained and kept to high
yachting standards.
There was no sea trial request on this report.
The USCG and ABYC require seacocks to be easily accessible and work freely, which was not
taken into consideration when installing the seacocks.
CONCLUSION
Said vessel is suitable for manufacturer’s attended purpose.
With consideration given to the condition of the vessel, optional equipment, current market
condition, and the use of the Buck Book, it is hereby my professional opinion that an appraised
insured value for said vessel can be set at $87,500.00. The replacement value is $293,500.00. This
particular model is no longer in production.
The sole purpose of this report is to obtain marine insurance and cannot be used for consideration
of purchase or financing.
