Story IdeasPioneers serve | Freshman service day Each year, our incoming freshmen spend a day volunteering with local non-profits in the Waukesha and Milwaukee community before classes begin. They learn new skills, work on team building with their peers and assist with projects.
Animal behavior program Carroll is ranked on the 2020 Universities.com list of top animal behavior programs in the U.S. Carroll’s longstanding partnership with the Milwaukee County Zoo sets our program apart by giving students access to a nationally recognized research training site just minutes from campus. All animal behavior students are required to develop hands-on skills via internships at places like the Racine Zoo, the Wildlife in Need Center or the behavior services department of the Humane Society. The degree prepares students for careers that include zookeeper, animal trainer, wildlife biologist, researcher, wildlife rehabilitator or laboratory manager.
Cross-cultural experiences teach students to think globally All students are required to complete a cross-cultural experience before graduation. Carroll is one of a handful of schools across
the country with this requirement. The goal of the curriculum is to provide opportunities for students to experience, interact with and learn from other cultures—something that is essential in our global society today.
