Ceiga Plus 2

DESCRIPTION

Let's face it the words 'video game' and 'photography' have never really made sense together (unless you're playing a game that involves taking photographs), however with recent advancements in computer graphic technology it is now possible for video game screenshots to look almost as good as real photographs. Although there aren't many tools for in-game photography – mods have been created to do a similar thing, (for PC games of course) and some amazing images have been taken even for games that aren't well known for being visually impressive. This issue of Ceiga is focused on showing off images taken by video game photographers.

I don’t know if you’re aware of this but I really like video games, I mean really like video games.

The whole reason I studied 3D art at university was with the hope of making assets for games,

my music taste as a teenager was influenced heavily by racing games (Burnout, Midnight Club,

Gran Turismo ...), and if I was given a choice to watch a World Cup match with my country playing

or watch Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, it’ll be Ubi all the way. So putting this issue of Ceiga Plus

together has been pure passion project for me and I hope to do more issue like this in the future.

If you are a publisher or developer of a game and want to promote it in a unique way, fell free to

send me images or videos, preferably of games that haven’t been released yet.

Now to talk about what’s in this issue. With the arrival of E3 2014 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) –

or departure depending on when you’re reading this issue, I’ve put together a group of impressive

looking games of the last generation so I can truly wave away the graphics of the last generation

and get ready for the new generation of game graphics. All of the images are screenshots not

taken by anyone directly involved with the creation of the game but by players of the game and

most of the shots for this issue were taken by Duncan J Harris (deadendthrills.com) who was nice

enough to let me use his images.

As you may have noticed this isn’t a main issue of Ceiga but a Ceiga Plus instead, mainly because

like the first issue of Plus this is also an experimental issue which means the more people that view

and share this, the more of these types of issues I’ll make.

I hope you enjoy this issue and if you have feedback of any sort please don’t hesitate to let me

know.
