Proposal 1: Arts + Murals

Honor Oakland youth who have been killedBART stations look bland without art. Let’s make the stations more attractive so people feel good when they take BART. We propose

launching a social media contest to reach a wide-range of community members to submit mural ideas to honor the lives of Oakland youth

who have been killed.

Proposal 2: Community Protectors

Eyes & Ears of the StreetMembers of the Oakland community who oversee

station safety, who are trained in nonviolent conflict mediation and are unarmed and

unaffiliated with the police force

TRAINS: MORE CHARGING STATIONS, HOT SPOTS, DIGITAL BOARDS, CARS

STATIONS: HEAT LAMPS, LIGHTING, WIFI, CHARGING STATION, AD BOARD

NEW MACHINES: PUNCH IN PRICE, CLIPPER CARD, DISCOUNT TICKETS

SOLAR POWER → *store energy and digitize booth for employee benefit

Proposal 3: BART-TECH

“A modern day feel for society which allows kids of today to interact with one another. As students we

are looking for a safe, and comforting “away place” we can rely on during times of hardship. As

a community through 2017, we are losing more and more innocent teens who have not yet been given the chance to become something in life. By

the day, less and less kids are growing up with positive role models, which is silently corrupting

our society.”
