THE CHANCERY LANE LIBRARY, KING’S COLLEGE LONDON

This drawing by the architect Sir James
Pennethorne shows his design for the
entrance tower of the Public Record Office
building, Chancery Lane, constructed between 1851
and 1856. This important Grade II* building was
acquired by King’s College London in 1998 and
work began on its conversion to a library for the
Schools of Humanities, Law and Physical Sciences
& Engineering in summer 1999.
King’s College London will be seeking
