The Religion of Islam
Its Specifications and Privileges
"Allah ! " The God that Quran Introduces!
) ١/ فاتحه !" ( هللا الرحمن الرحيم بسم "
" In the Name of Allah!
The Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful ! " (Holy Quran: Fatiha.1)
The Holy word "ALLAH - God," was originally (Al'Elah,) which by plurality
of use shortened and sounded as: "ALLAH." Apparently by the same way, it
established as a (Proper Name) for God, because, even, before the Revelation
of Quran, this word was used among the people, and the pre-Islamic Arabs
also knew it: " And if you ask them who created them,
They will surely say: " Allah…! " (Holy Quran: Zokhraf. 87)
Among the reasons refer to the word (Allah) being a proper name for
God, is that the God Almighty is attributed by all His Finest Names and all
Deeds that are taken from those names, but not by the name (Allah.)
Since the Almighty God is the God of all Creatures, He will guide people
to His attributes, and understands them that to what qualities of Perfection is
He qualified, so it can be said that the word (Allah) necessarily, implies to all
the attributes of Perfection He has.
11 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
And it is acceptable to say that the term (Allah) is the name for a
Sublime One who is the holder of all attributes of Perfection, otherwise If
this analysis is taken aside, the word (Allah) itself, does not imply anything
other than being the name of the God Almighty, and except what is
considered in the term of (Al'h,) no other consideration is applied. (Almizan v. 1, p. 32.)
The Meaning of Islam, And its Four Levels
)١٣٤-١٣٠/ بقره ( »! ربه اسلم قال اسلمت لرب العالمين اذ قال «
" When God commanded Abraham to submit,
he replied:" I have submitted myself to the Will of
the Lord of the universe!"
(Holy Quran: Baqarah. 130 – 134 )
The word of Islam and Submission means that someone or something
against another person has a state that never disobeys him and sets him
aside! This is the state of "Islam," "Submission," or "Surrender (Believe in
Islam.)"
The Islam(Submission) of a human being for God, is the description of
his submission and acceptance of any destiny which is regulated by the
Sublime God, whether the Genetic fate, or the legislative destiny, such as
the commandments and the prohibitions!
For this reason, it can be said that the degree of submission varies
according to the severity and weakness of the events, or the ease and
hardness of the incidents. One who surrenders against more difficult
occurrences and more difficult tasks, whose Islam is stronger than a person
12 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
who surrenders against not more difficult events or tasks!
Thus, for Islam, there are four levels as following:
First Level of Islam:
The first level of Islam is the acceptance of "Appearances" of the Divine
Commandments and Prohibitions. It is enough to say the "Shahad'atian‐
Testimony" - (Reciting the Articles of Islamic Faith: "I bear witness that there is no god
to be worshiped but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, "
verbally, whether or not the heart agrees with.
The Holy Quran, in order to identify these people, states:
"The desert dweller Arabs say: "We Believe!" Say:
"You have not believed, so you only say:
We are Submitted to Islam! "
Since Faith has not yet entered into your hearts...! " (Holy Quran: Hojarat. 14 )
The Faith of such a person who is at this stage of Islam is the most
primitive or "the first level of Islam."
Faith at this stage is the acknowledgment and heart belief in the concise
theme of the "Shahad'atian‐Testimony" which requires to observe most of the
requirements of religion.
Second Level of Islam
The second level of Islam has been determined by the Holy Quran:
" O, you who have faith! Enter into submission all together!" (Holy Quran: Baqarah. 208 )
According to this Verse, there is a level of Islam that comes after the
Faith, and this Islam, referred to in the above Verse, comes after they believe:
"O, you who believe!" That is, the second level of Islam!
13 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
At this stage, which is the continuation of the previous stage, Faith
means a detailed belief in religious Truths, which leads to Righteous Deeds.
Of course, in this level, in some cases, the person may commit sins.
The Holy Quran determines the specifications and duties of this stage as
follows:
"Those who believed in Our Signs and had been Muslims!" (Zokhraf: 69)
"The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger then
they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the
Way of Allah They are the truthful ones!" (Hojarat: 15)
" O, Believers! Shall I show you a bargain which will save you from the
painful torment? Have faith in God and His Messenger and strive hard for
His cause with your wealth and in persons. This is better for you if only you
knew it !"
(Saff: 10‐11)
In the Verses above, it is noted that the God Almighty guides again the
holders of the Faith to another Faith, so it turns out that their second Faith is
different from the first Faith!
Third Level of Islam
The third level of Islam is the trail of the second level of Faith. Because
when the human Self becomes accustomed to the said Faith, and is moralized
with its morality, automatically the opposing forces, such as animal and brutal
forces, will be tamed and obedient to the Self.
All those forces that were bound to the worldly and mortal desires are
reformed and tamed so that the Self can easily prevent them from outburst!
This is where the man performs his worship and servitude to God as if he
sees Him.
14 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
Of course, if he does not see God, he has the certainty that God Sees
him. And such a man will not see any rebellious force in his Self that does not
obey God's commandments or prohibitions, or gets angry by Divine Decrees
or Destinies, eventually surrenders his entire Self to God Almighty!
The Holy Quran describes this stage in the following Verse with the
Phrase: " Surrender in full submission, " and Says:
"But no, by the Lord! they will not believe till they make thee the judge
regarding the disagreement between them, then they shall find in
themselves no impediment touching thy verdict, but shall surrender in full
submission!" (Holy Quran: Nessa. 65 )
This is Islam in the third level, in which Faith is placed in the third stage,
where the God Almighty states in the Sura-Momenoon:
"Indeed the Believers are those who attain Salvation…!" (Holy Quran: Momenoon. 1 )
Or, when he tells Abraham, His Prophet and His Messenger: " Surrender!"
He says: "… I surrender to the Lord of the worlds! " (Holy Quran: Baqarah. 131 )
Meanwhile, the Ethical Virtues of Satisfaction, Submission, Bargain with
God, Forbearance with God's Will, Piousness in all senses, Piety, Like and
Dislike for the sake of Allah; all of these are from the requirements of this level
of Faith.
Fourth Level of Islam
The fourth grade of Islam is the sequence and necessity of the third
stage of Faith, since a person who was in the previous level, his state in
Presence of his Lord, is the state of a slave in front of his owner, that is, he
constantly is engaged in the duty of Servitude, that worthy Worship, worthy
15 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
to the same "full Submission" agaisnt the Will of his Master and Favorite,
worthy to His Satisfaction!
This above-mentioned state relates to the state of a human slave against
a human owner, but the Worship on the Kingdom of the Almighty God is
greater and more greater than that, because the Kingdom of God is the
Substantive Kingdom, in which no creature has independence! Neither
inherent independence, nor practical and adjectival independence!
The man who is at this level, is not in his own diligence and discretion,
but at the same state he was before, the Divine Favor encompasses him, and
it becomes clear to him that the Kingdom is only for Allah, and nothing is for
man, neither himself nor his belongings, unless God has commissioned him!
So, there is no Lord for him except God!
And this is a sense of Grace, a Divine Favor, which no longer the desire of
man interferes to obtain it!
Against this level of Islam, there stands fourth stage of "Faith", which
captures all human existence. At this stage, the Quran says:
" … Not they will be afraid, nor shall they grieve!"
Because at this stage, the believer must have the certainty that there is
nobody and nothing other than God, to have independence of himself,
therefore he is not afraid of anything, and he is not upset by the lack of
anything!
"It should be known, verily on The Devoted Friends of Allah there is No
fear, nor shall they grieve!" (Holy Quran: Yunous. 62 )
This Faith will be found in the heart of someone who has the fourth
level of Islam. (Almizan V. 2, P. 159.)

Islam, the Only Religion with God
) ١٩/ آل عمران (»...! ان الدين عندهللا االسالم «
" The true religion with God is Islam…!"
(Holy Quran: Ale'Omran. 19 )
The Religion is One with Allah Almighty, and there is no difference in it,
and He has not appointed for His servants except that religion, and in all the
books that He sent to His Messengers He did not express but the same
Religion, and that Religion is Islam. the Islam, which is the "Submission to the
Right" - the Right in Belief, and the Right in Action!
Islam is the submission that a slave must have in return for a statement
issued from a Divine Position - whether that statement is related to
Knowledge or to the Commands of the law.
Although those Knowledge and Commands differ in terms of quantity
and quality in different religions, but the Reality and the Truth of all are the
same, that is, the differences between the legislations are in terms of
perfection and imperfection, not the difference between them in a
contradiction or opposition way. All of them gather together on a Meaning -
which is the Submission and Obedience of the Divine Command according to
the statements of their own prophets.
Such Submission and Obedience is indeed the same Religion that God
has asked of His slaves and expressed to them, which requires that the man
takes what knowledges are expressed and enlightened by His teachings. The
worshiper should also stop against the ambiguous knowledges without any
intrusion of his own side beforehand.
But the differences that the People of the Book, Jews and Christians,
have created in Divine Religion, the difference through oppression, and with-
17 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
out a justified excuses have gone through that path. Allah Almighty stated in
their heavenly book that Religion is only one, and that is Islam, the
Submission!
Jews and Christians believe in God, they are not disbelievers, but their
disbelief is toward Divine Signs, those Signs that have revealed the Truth to
them.
The meaning and purpose of the term "Religion with God" is the
legislative presence of religion, that is, religions from point of legislation view
are in the same way, and there is no difference except in terms of perfection
and defect. It is also due to the differences between the talents of the former
and latter generations, not due to the fact that religion is one in terms of the
genetic and structure of creation, running in the nature of humanity in one
way and at the same course!

Ali(as) said:
"Now, I express the relation of Islam so that no man can speak before me
or after me:
"Islam" is Submission, and "Submission" is a Certainty, and "Certainty" is
the Acknowledgment of Religion, and "Acknowledgment" of Religion is
Confession to its Substantiation; and "Confession" to religion is also to Fulfill
its certain Duties, and "Fulfill" is the "Action"! So:
The believer has taken his religion from his Lord.
You must understand the Faith of the believer from his Actions.
Like as your understanding the disbelief of disbeliever from his Denial.
18 CLASSIFICATION OF ALMIZAN RELIGION OF ISLAM… ‐ Book Thirty Two
"O people! you should not give up your Religion!
Sin is better while having religion than good with non-religion!
For sin is forgiven if you have religion,
But good will not be accepted with non-religion!!" (Narrated by Ibn Shahr Ashub)
(Almizan V.5, P. 229.)
The Importance of Life in Islam
) ١٠٢/ آل عمران ( »...!وال تموتن اال و انتم مسلمون «
"… And do not die unless you are Muslims!" (Holy Quran: Ale'Omran. 102 )
The significance of Islam and the life of man in Islam for God is so great
that God has forbidden "Death without Islam" as an arbitrary matter of man,
that is to say, He has ordained the attachment to Islam in all cases, until death,
whether or not comes to one of them, then the man dies in the state of Islam.
It is worth to say that "Death" is of genetical nature, beyond the limits of
human authority, and on this basis, the prohibition of such affairs will
inevitably be a genetical matter, but sometimes God so couples a non-
optional matter with the optionals, that considers the new compound as
optional, subject to His commendment and prohibition . In the above Verse,
God Says:
"O, you who believe! Fear from The disobedience of Allah's Commands As it should be feared and see that You die not, but as a
Muslim!" (Almizan V.6, P. 279.)
