.• Executing.the."Setup.exe".file.of.the.printer.driver

.• Installing.from.[Add.Printer]This.section.uses.the.method.for.installing.from.[Add.Printer].as.an.example..For.details.on.installing.the.printer.driver,.see.the."Readme.txt".file.included.with.the.printer.driver.

.• Before.performing.the.installation,.log.in.to.Windows.as.a.user.with.Administrator.privileges.

.•Make.sure.to.close.all.other.applications.before.installing.the.printer.driver.

Preparations

1. Prepare any application file that can perform printing.This.is.used.to.display.the.[Print].screen.of.Clear.Image.Editor.In.this.section,.the.Readme.txt.file.of.Clear.Image.Editor.is.used.

2. Click [Start] → [Devices and Printers].

3. Right-click Canon iPR Server Q2 V2.0 (US) or Canon iPR Server T1 V2.0 US → click [Printer properties].

4. Click the [Configuration] sheet.

5. Confirm that [Clear Coat Option] is set in [Installed Options].

NOTE

If.it.is.not.set,.select.[Clear.Coat.Option].from.[Available.Options].→.click.[Add].

1. Click [Start].

2. Click [All Programs].

3. Click [Canon Clear Image Editor] → [Clear Image Editor].Clear.Image.Editor.starts.Next,.display.the.[Print].screen.of.Clear.Image.Editor.

4. Select [File] → [Import].

5. Select [All Files] for the filename filtering.

6. Set the "Readme.txt" file of Clear Image Editor as the filename.This.example.uses.the."Readme.txt".file.of.Clear.Image.Editor.as.an.example.Another.file.can.be.used.as.long.as.it.is.an.application.file.that.can.perform.printing.

7. Click [Open]."Readme.txt".is.displayed.in.the.preview.area.

8. Click [Print] on the control panel.The.[Print].screen.is.displayed.Next,.import.the.preset.file.

9. Click [Preset File Settings].

10. Copy the path to the preset file to import.

11. Click [Settings].The.print.settings.dialog.of.the.printer.driver.is.displayed.

12. Select [Save and manage list of Job Templates] from [Preset].

14. Paste the file path copied in step 10 to [File name].

15. Click [Open].The.display.returns.to.the.[Job.Templates].screen.

16. Click [OK].The.display.returns.to.the.print.settings.dialog.of.the.printer.driver.

17. Click [OK].The.result.of.importing.the.preset.file.is.displayed.

Click [OK].The.display.returns.to.the.[Preset.File.Settings].screen.Repeat.steps.10.to.18.until.all.the.preset.files.are.imported.Also.repeat.steps.10.to.18.when.a.file.must.be.imported.again.If.you.are.using.Canon.iPR.Server.T1.V2.0.US,.it.is.not.necessary.to.import.a.preset.file.to.[For.Registering].in.[Preset.File.for.1-Pass.Printing]..Only.import.the.other.preset.files.

19. Click [OK].

20. Click [Cancel].Cancel.the.printing.of.the."Readme.txt".file.of.Clear.Image.Editor.that.was.used.to.display.the.[Print].screen.

21. Click [File] → [Exit].A.confirmation.screen.for.saving.the.file.is.displayed.

22. Click [No].Discard.the."Readme.txt".file.of.Clear.Image.Editor.that.was.used.to.display.the.[Print].screen.

When.performing.clear.printing,.Canon.iPR.Server.Q2.V2.0.(US).or.Canon.iPR.Server.T1.V2.0.US.printer.driver.must.be.installed.in.the.computer.to.use.Clear.Image.Editor.on.

1. Click [Print] on the control panel.

IMPORTANT

When.printing.with.Clear.Image.Editor.for.the.first.time,.a.preset.file.must.be.imported..Printing.cannot.be.performed.unless.a.preset.file.is.imported..For.information.on.the.procedure.for.importing.preset.files,.see."Importing.Preset.Files",.on.p..2-7.

2. Select Canon iPR Server Q2 V2.0 (US) in [Printer Name].

NOTE.

Only.installed.Canon.iPR.series.printers.are.displayed.

3. In [Copies], specify the number of copies to print.

4. In [Mode], select the printing mode.

Setting the Printing Mode The following types of printing modes exists.

[1-Pass Printing] * A mode for printing CMYK original data and clear data at the same time. With Canon iPR Server Q2 V2.0 (US), the original data and clear data are printed. With Canon iPR Server T1 V2.0 US, the original data and the clear data registered in the imagePRESS C1+ in advance are printed.

[Print Only Original Data]** A mode for performing CMYK printing as pre-printing to print clear data with post-printing. Clear data is not printed.

[Print Only Clear Data]* A mode for printing clear data with post-printing or creating documents with only clear data. CMYK printing is not performed. With Canon iPR Server Q2 V2.0 (US), the clear data is printed. With Canon iPR Server T1 V2.0 US, the clear data registered in the imagePRESS C1+ in advance is printed.

[Register Only Clear Data]* A mode for registering clear data in the imagePRESS C1+ as a clear template for performing clear data printing from the device screen of the imagePRESS C1+. To print clear data using Canon iPR Server T1 V2.0 US, the clear data must be registered in advance with this mode. For details, see "Using [1-Pass Printing]/[Print Only Clear Data] with Canon iPR Server T1 V2.0 US", on p. 5-22.

Cannot open multiple files at the same time.

Cause You.specified.multiple.files.when.starting.the.application.

Remedy Specify.a.single.file.when.starting.the.application.

Could not apply the settings to one or more templates.

Cause The.template.could.not.be.set.for.a.page.when.using.[Apply.to.Templates.on.All.Pages].

Remedy Check.all.pages.to.see.whether.the.template.is.applied.

Cannot import because the file name is too long. Files with a name of up to 64 characters can be imported.

Cause The.import.failed.because.the.name.of.the.file.you.tried.to.import.was.too.long.

Remedy Import.the.file.again.after.changing.the.filename.so.that.it.is.64.characters.or.less.

Cannot import because the document being edited has more than 100 pages.

Cause The.number.of.pages.after.the.file.is.imported.exceeds.the.limit.(100.pages).
