earth.• Smog: synonyms include: smoke, fumes, air pollution• The Greenhouse Effect: The process of gasses holding warmth around the

earth and making the earth warmer. • Industrial Revolution: The period in history when people started using

machines and factories to make things.• Extreme weather vocabulary: Flood: too much water. Drought: not enough

rain or water. Polar Vortex: very cold for several weeks. Heat Wave: very hot for several weeks. Hurricane: the same as a cyclone, it is a big storm with lots of wind and water. It only happens on America’s East coast and the Caribbean.
