Carbonite offers a “no think” service for off-site storage

It great for recovering a modest amount of files.

For major recovery, we recommend an additional backup in the form of a USB or Firewire External Hard Drive, to which are copied all the Cougar Mtn files daily to separate folders by the day, Monday, Tuesday, etc. This way the main computer goes down, the hard drive is plugged into another computer, the pathing is changed on all the PC’s and you are back operational.

Carbonite offers unlimited backup space but it will take weeks to get all the data backed up. So After installation, first mark the entire Cougar Mtn Program and Data directory, then wait a couple of days to get your Cougar info backed up.

Then mark all of the hard drives on the computer to be backed up.

For the first Month, we recommend that you open the Carbonite Status Window.

Then once a month, check status.

Once a quarter, suggest doing a test restore of a small file

A monthly review of folders on the hard drives in my Computer should be done to verify that the folders/files that are to be backed up are marked with a green or orange button.

A green button indicates that the folder/file is backed up.

An orange button indicates that its scheduled for backup.

Problems on re-installing Please delete the temporary files on your computer using the instructions below

  1. Exit Internet Explorer 7, and then exit any instances of Windows Explorer.

2. Click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then press ENTER.3. On the General tab, click Delete under Browsing History in the Internet Properties dialog box.4. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click Delete Cookies.5. In the Delete Cookies dialog box, click Yes.
