Comorbidades/Multimorbidades tem um grande impacto na qualidade de vida, gravidade da doença e sobrevida da DPOC .

Embora comuns, ainda são ignoradas e pouco estudadas.

A prevalência real é subestimada.

Inflamação sistêmica, gerada por mecanismos diversos, parece ser o principal fator fisiopatológico.
