Principal’s Report
It’s hard to believe week 7 is upon us already. Teachers have been busy preparing reports for students to take
home in week 9. The end of the term will also see parent/
teacher interviews taking place again. A note about this will be going home shortly. We recommend getting your
note back with the preferred time as soon as you can to
avoid disappointment, particularly for those parents with multiple children at the school.
As the colder weather hits, I would like to reiterate the
importance of students wearing full school uniform.
Wearing our uniform is part of the expectations of being a ‘Responsible, Respectful Learner’. Students who are
out of uniform, even partially, are expected to be carrying a note from a parent or carer.
In my role, I have the pleasure of being in and out of different classrooms and I would like to take this
opportunity to congratulate students on their efforts in class. It is so pleasing to see so many working hard and
persisting with tasks. It would also be fair to mention the
hard work all staff (teaching and non-teaching) have been doing to spark this love of learning.
A lot of out-of-school activities are taking place and will
continue to do so with our Cross Country taking place
this week as well as the upcoming recorder trip to Sydney. A select group of students are also singing at the
TEDx conference in Sydney this week as part of the Moorambilla program. We are always proud to showcase
the many talents of our students.
As I always do, I shall leave you with a joke.
What is the tallest building in Cobar Public School?
The library, because it has the most STORIES.

How can I go to the
Positive Behaviour for
Learning Shining Day
at the end of Term 2?
I need to collect 10 Merit
Awards by
Thursday 28th June, 2018.
START
I can get a merit award by: Collecting ten good eggs. Reading at home ten times. Attending excursions. 100% attendance each term. Representing the school in the community. Getting one from a teacher at assembly.
I can get a good egg for following the Positive Behaviour for Learning expectations:
All staff at Cobar Public School can hand out good eggs. Teachers are on a mission to
give out at least 20 good eggs
during the day, 5 each on
playground duty and to write
up merit award recipients on
Sentral.
SHINING DAY
Thursday 5th July
Wear your Pjs or
Onsie’s to school!!
I can go to the Positive
Behaviour for Learning
Shining Day if I bring in my 10
merit awards to school on
Thursday 28th June for my
teacher to check.
Who Got
Spotted
this week?
Ernie has spotted Hayleigh around
the school and in the classroom. She
always uses school equipment for its
purpose and shares with others. She
wears her school uniform with pride.
Hayleigh always looks out for
others.
Zethan Orcher
Ernie is very pleased with Zethan in
Kindergarten. He has noticed that
Zethan always listens to instructions
while doing his 5L's on the floor.
Zethan comes to school every day
with all his equipment ready to learn.
Ernie loves the way that Zethan
always tries his best and
never gives up!
Good on you Zethan.

Noah O’Brien
Ernie was sneaking around the 5/6
building when he spotted Noah being
very respectful during maths activities.
Noah was using manners and taking
turns with his group. Noah not only
showed respect to his classmates but
he then made sure he put all the
activities back in the folder and
respected other people's belongings.
Well done Noah!
Congratulations
