For the next phase of the proposal, the focus will be on the eastern part of the southern apron and also the industrial part of the eastern apron. This new precinct will be the research and development pre-cinct of Green Island.

The old weapons workshop will be adaptive reused into a new En-vironmental Education Centre. By keeping the original structures, the ground floor will be able to be freed and improve connections across the site. The freed ground floor will allow for a sheltered gathering space.

Programs will be inserted above and allow for smaller gatherings such as conference rooms, workshops and labs. By exposing the grid structures, it will allow for new vertical atriums to exist in the building to allow light in and improve internal views.
