Design your own color wheel.

Avoid the tradition “circles” color wheel.

Be creative!

Your design will show the transition of colors.

Each section should be large enough to show the color (bigger than a quarter).

Color wheels must include 12 colors:

3 Primary Colors 3 Secondary Colors 6 Tertiary Colors

Warning! Don’t try to do all 12 colors in a class period. Start with two color and work between them.

(IE. Red and Yellow = Orange = Red Orange and Yellow Orange)

Create a single design that has at least 7 different sections.

The Design should fit inside a 7.5” X 10” box

Divide your board into 4 sections 7.5” X 10” and transfer the design into each box.

Paint each design using a different color scheme for each.

Monochromatic (1 Hue, 3 Tints and 3 shades)

Complementary (2 colors opposite each other)

Triadic (3 colors equally spaced)

Analogous (4 colors next to each other)
