Here colours are used to show different levels of heat within the elephant. The warmer colours where the animal is expressing the most heat and the cooler where the elephant is coolest,

The gradient and how the two colours have been blended in this image create and optical illusion where the colours seem to b moving and mixing.

Very fiery, hot colours are used in this image. Warmth resonates from the image.

Very cool, cold colours are used in this image to express a sombre, dark tone

Here, block colours are used to suggest light and shadow on the figure.

Beautiful colours blend into each other in this image and the colours deepen tonally to created those dune or wave-like structures

Colour blocking in this image have been used to give the item in the image depth. The warmer colours also pop out and the cooler colours sink backwards to create depth.

Different colour and the method they are displayed can be used to express different feeling sand emotions. For example i find this image with its colours very sobering and calming.

There is quite a lot of energy in the way the colours have been applied. I think perhaps they portray a danger warning because of the black, orange, yellow and red.

Different tones are used to create a three dimensional, life-like image on the ground out of chalk that can only be seen fully to be what it is by looking at it from a certain angle.

This image has been made up using the different symbols and letters on a typewriter. This method is the same as using pixels on a computer, the marks are so tiny we see the picture as a whole tonal image.

You can see the different tones used in this image and the tones have been created by different types of line, eg, cross-hatching, stippling.

In this picture we see a blue and green and pink swirl but the blue and green swirl are actually one and the same colour but seem different because of the different colours they’re surrounded by. The colour seems to change.
