Common Mode Choke

• For signal integrity it is recommended to not filter the first four harmonics • Cut off frequency should be greater than the fourth harmonic

Common Mode Choke

• Signal has a NRZ-coding and data rate is 1Gbit/s• Filter with two SMD-Ferrite => WE-CBF HF• Transmission line without filter (left) and with SMD-Ferrites WE-CBF HF (right)

• Inserted components changes the impedance of the system• Causes unwanted reflexion

• Solution: insert components without differential impedance
