How BaseLine™ Adds Value
• BaseLine™ adds value in two main ways – by providing training through the start-kit and by providing a project with documented and proven ‘best practices’ and documentation templates.
• Following the BaseLine™ guidelines when installing and setting up WebSphere Business Integration environments significantly reduces the risk of having to reinstall environments because of configuration mistakes made during initial installation.
• Following the BaseLine™ naming standards will provide consistent naming standards and reduce the risk of inadvertently causing problems due to name clashes. For instance the BaseLine™ naming standards for MQ queues will ensure that it is possible to migrate from a non-clustered to a clustered broker (i.e. a clustered MQ) configuration without having to rename and redefine queues.

Company Presentation for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics – 18. Mai 2007
How BaseLine™ Adds Value - cont.
• The BaseLine™ documentation templates provides a consistent basis for system documentation for important aspects of system integrations (message formats, queue definitions, test descriptions etc).
• The BaseLine™ start-kit will provide a quick startup for the integration platform by providing training and the first integration implementation.
• The BaseLine™ standard adapters will also help in providing a quick start of the integrations, for instance by providing a standard file-to-broker adapter. While in no way impossible to implement by oneself, having the adapter will nonetheless help ensure a quicker start.
• The System Integration Policy, which will be initiated during the Start Kit and refined and completed in later project phases, will provide a valuable addition to ATP’s overall IT-Strategy. The SIP will cover all important issues concerned with Systems Integration i ATP, and thus also act as a reference for future integration projects.
• The BaseLine™ software components are based on open standards. Furthermore open source products are used, e.g. log4j, whose BaseLine™ instance guarantees a platform wide consistent logging.
