Ziel der Analyse
• Charakterisierung und Identifizierung möglichst aller im
Recyclingkarton vorkommender Komponenten, welche
• das Potential zur Migration über die Gasphase
aufweisen (kein benetzender Kontakt)
• für eine mögliche Migration ins Lebensmittel von
mindestens 10 µg/kg ausreichen (Schwelle der
Relevanz).
• Angestrebte Nachweisgrenze: 0.1 mg/kg Karton
• Annahme 50 % Übergang und ein Verhältnis
Verpackung zu Lebensmittel von 1 zu 5 (ergibt eine
Konzentration von 10 µg/kg Lebensmittel = eingesetzte
toxikologisch relevante Grenze)

Schlussfolgerung Analyse von Recyclingkarton
• Über 250 Substanzen im Recyclingkarton mit eventuell
genügender Flüchtigkeit und einer Konzentration für eine
Migration in trockene Lebensmittel über der Schwelle von
10 µg/kg.
• Überwiegender Anteil des migrierfähigen Materials stammt
nicht aus Holzfasern, sondern sind Chemikalien aus den ins
Recycling eingebrachten Papieren und Kartons.
• Keine lückenlose Identifikation oder nur mit sehr grossem
Aufwand.
• Eine funktionelle Barriere, welche die Migration um einen
Faktor 100 reduziert, würde die Migration unter 10 µg/kg
halten.

Zusammenfassung umfassende Analyse
• On-line HPLC Fraktionierung, umfassende GCxGC oder
die Kombination von beiden Techniken können je nach
Komplexität der Probenextrakte und den Konzentrations-
unterschiede der einzelnen Verbindungen eingesetzt
werden.
• Die Nachweisgrenze erreicht die toxikologisch relevante
Grenze.
• Keine vollständig umfassende Analyse: eingeschränkt
durch die Eigenschaften der Probe und den Analyten.
• Die beschriebenen Methoden bieten eine breite
Analyse der Migrate aus allen Arten von Lebensmittel-
verpackungen.

Zusammenfassung Analyse von Polyolefinen
• Polar/apolare Säulenkombination als optimale Wahl:
– polare Abbauprodukte und Nebenprodukte werden
gut von den Oligomeren der Polyolefine abgetrennt
– gute Trennung zwischen gesättigten und
ungesättigten/cyclischen Kohlenwasserstoffen
– gute Peakform von polaren Komponenten
• Gute Spektrenqualität auch für Komponenten mit
sehr tiefer Konzentration.
• GCxGC TOF MS: Werkzeug für die möglichst
umfassende Analyse von Migraten aus Lebens-
mittelverpackungen.
