Container TypesContainer Types

Type E ContainersThe containers on the left are suitable for Shoka Shimputai and Free Style.

Type F ContainersThe containers pictured on the left are suitable for any Free Style arrangement. Also Type A and E are suitable for Free Style

Type G ContainersBaskets are suitable for traditional Isshuike and Nishuike Shoka designs. Not suitable for Sanshuike, Shimputai or Futukabuike designs. Baskets without handles above the opening are preferable Kenzan must be raised to just below top of basket.

Type A ContainersContainers on the left are suitable for Shoka arrangements including Isshuike, Nishuike, Sanshuike and Shimputai. Also suitable for Rikka’s and some Free Styles.

Containers for Shoka and Rikka should have an opening at the top that is wider than the base and the top edge should be completely even.

Type D ContainersThis container is a suiban and is suitable for Futukabu-ike Shoka, some modern Shoka and classical Rikka designs and some Free Styles.

Type B ContainersBronze containers shown to the left are suitable for Traditional Rikka and Traditional Shoka arrangements. Not suitable for Modern Rikka or Sanshuike Shoka, Free Style or any Shimputai.
