Overcoming Feelings of Inferiority

Wisdom is thinking right thoughts and making right choices.

Wisdom comes from seeing things as God sees them.

Recognize that you are not alone

Make genuine friends

Learn to do something well

Face your problems honestly

Accepting the values of the world leads to feelings of inferiority

Accepting God's values takes

away feelings of inferiority.

Learning to Accept Myself

"I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made...."

Psalm 139:14

1. WE WERE CREATED BY GOD

2. WE WERE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD

3. We were created to glorify God 4. We were given certain

characteristics and abilities by God.

2. We were created in the image of God.

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him...”

Genesis 1:27

1. Realize that you are a special individual.

"I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..."

Psalm 139:14

2. Begin a personal relationship with your Creator.

"Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."

3. Don't compare yourself with others.

"...they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

II Corinthians 10:12

4. Respond correctly to "defects.“

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change...Courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.

5. Realize that God is still working on you.

"For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son..." Romans 8:29

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

6. Reject bitterness.

Accepting myself is based on trusting the love and wisdom of God, the One who made me.

Why Isn't Christ Real to Me?

"He (the Holy Spirit) shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you."

John 16:14

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

“At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you.”

CHRIST DWELLS IN EVERY BELIEVER The Holy Spirit makes Christ real to us.

"He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you.

All things that the Father hath are Mine: therefore said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall show it unto you."

John 16:14,15

The Holy Spirit makes Christ real to me. I am responsible to see that I do not grieve Him.

1. Unconfessed sin.

2. Being taken up with the cares of this world.

3. Worldliness"...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." James 4:4

"Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23,24

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

What is the difference between “sins” and “all unrighteousness?”

"Father, I have sinned against You by _________ (name the sin).Right now I am confessing this sin to You and asking You to forgive me. I thank You that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood for this sin. "

ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO FILL YOUR HEART

"Blessed Holy Spirit, I have grieved You so long... I have confessed my sins, and now I ask You to come out of that dark corner of my heart and fill my life. Make Christ real to me. I do want Him to be Lord of my life."

1. You will put God first in your life.

2. You will love the Lord.

3. You will turn from worldliness.

4. You will spend time with God.

The Holy Spirit makes Christ real to me. I am responsible to see that I do not grieve Him.
