facility.
Rapid Crushing and Screening Contractors Pty Ltd (‘Rapid’) is a
provider of quality crushing and screening services to the civil
contracting, construction, mining, and resource industries, under
contract or hire.
We’re a privately owned Western Australian Company having begun

ABOUT RAPID CRUSHING
Rapid’s operations continue to expand with specialised crushing
& screening services. Our operations are backed up by a solid
workshop team able to conduct in-house repairs, maintenance and
fabrication on both sides of the country.
Rapid Crushing’s Mackay office and workshop facility.
A key factor in Rapid’s success has been the back up and support
from its own in-house fabrication company, Irvine Engineering (WA)
Pty Ltd. This facility has been designing, fabricating and
maintaining crushing and screening plants alongside Rapid since
inception. Both companies have excellent relationships with crusher
& screen component suppliers and other specialists for further
technical support. The outcome of our engineering capabilities is
that Rapid is able to fabricate and build its own custom designed
purpose built crushing and screening plants specifically to
particular client and site specifications. The Company does not
rely on outsourced contractors or off-the- shelf plants, thus
avoiding potential loss of control over the quality of work and
materials or reliability of supply. Rapid works extensively in
remote locations that often have limited access and limited
communications. It’s to this end, that the Company has created a
culture to be self-sufficient on site with a workforce that has the
ability to make do with the resources on hand and ensure that all
trades personnel are present on site to attend to issues as they
occur.
RAPID CRUSHING HEALTH & SAFETY
Rapid Crushing is committed to ensuring that all Employees, Sub-
Contractors and Visitors are provided with a workplace that does
not adversely impact upon their wellbeing.
This is reflected by the safety model taken from the company
philosophy;
Rapid Crushing recognises its legal and moral responsibility to
provide a safe working environment, safe systems of work and
competent supervision of all employees at all times. Likewise, we
understand that the benefits to be gained from successful Health
and Safety management are significant. Rapid Crushing is also
committed to providing a work environment that is free from
harassment and bullying and has numerous policies and procedures to
back up and enforce this commitment.
INDIGENOUS AWARENESS
Rapid Crushing’s focus is on increasing Indigenous employment and
contributing to the long term participation of Indigenous
Australians.
The Company recognises that our success depends in part on the
well-being and sustainability of the communities in which we
operate.
The Company aims for Indigenous Australians to feel welcome and
valued as employees, providing them with the same opportunities for
employment as others in the community.
Rapid Crushing strives to achieve: • Alignment with our client’s
Indigenous policies and commitments. • Increased awareness among
employees of Indigenous culture and traditions. • An increase in
Indigenous employment and to facilitate sustainable Indigenous
development. • Support for Indigenous apprentices and trainees to
graduate and find continuous employment. • Methods to attract
participation by local, regional people. • A building of
collaborative relationships with community organisations to aid
employers. • The provision of job opportunities and to aid local
workers in developing skills and securing of jobs.
Rapid has been operating up to two large modular three stage
crushing circuits at FMG’s Cloudbreak Operations in WA to produce
over 500,000 tonnes per month of -10mm iron ore fines. It has been
an around-the-clock operation with a workforce of up to 42
employees working a 14/7 day roster. Prior to that, Rapid operated
at FMG’s Christmas Creek Operations producing over 900,000 tonnes
per month of fines iron ore product, using two modular electric
plants and a large mobile track plant. In each case we met or
exceeded our client’s requirements in terms of availability and
production through the plants.
IRON ORE PROCESSING
Rapid Crushing has been acknowledged over four decades as the “GO
TO” provider of highly productive and cost efficient two &
three stage crushing circuits for production of lump & fines
hematite ore and magnetite ore. Notable successfully
completed projects include:
CAPABILITIES
CAPABILITIES
KARARA MINING LIMITED (KARARA)
Rapid successfully completed a long-term crushing campaign as
subcontractor to Brierty Ltd at the Karara Mine Site. A two stage

LITHIUM PROCESSING
More recently, Rapid has extended its processing capabilities and
expertise into the lithium market, having recently secured the
following long term sustainable pegmatite processing contract with
Galaxy Resources at its Mt
Cattlin operations in Ravenswood, WA.
CAPABILITIES
GALAXY RESOURCES (MT CATTLIN)
Ore is mined by others on this site and delivered to Rapid’s
crushing & screening circuit. Ore is processed and stockpiled
by Rapid and thereafter fed into Galaxy’s HMS gravity recovery
circuit. Rapid supplied and installed a purpose built, custom
designed, three Stage Modular Electric circuit to support the
contract obligations.
Project Expansion
In early 2020 Galaxy added a new optical ore sorting circuit (OOS)
to facilitate the processing of previously stockpiled contaminated
materials containing high grade pegmatite.
Galaxy engaged Rapid to install and operate a bypass circuit from
our existing plant to provide for standalone crushing of
contaminated ore. This is fed into Galaxy’s OOS to recover high
grade ore that is subsequently fed into their processing
circuit.
CAPABILITIES

Galaxy’s Optical Ore Sorting plant rear left.
CAPABILITIES
SPECIALISED SELECT-FILL CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Rapid has strong materials processing capabilities and expertise
enabling us to produce a cost- effective option for your next
project.
CHEVRON (GORGON LNG PROJECT)
Rapid has completed a five year plus contract to process
construction materials on site at Barrow Island with CPB
Contractors (formally Leighton Contractors) and Ertech. Rapid has
processed in excess of 8,500,000 tonnes of material associated with
the construction works for Chevron’s Gorgon LNG Project. Rapid
Crushing was the sole crushing contractor on Barrow Island during
the almost six year project period of initially producing materials
for Ertech, to accommodate the camp earthworks and then for Thiess
and Leightons (CPB). To achieve this we operated a double shift for
the entire duration. Up to 60 permanent employees were working a
26/9 day roster, flying in and out of Barrow Island. The following
products were produced during these contracts: • 5,000,000 Tonnes
of -75mm Basecourse • 2,000,000 Tonnes of -400mm Common Fill •
1,500,000 Tonnes of Sealing Aggregate, Concrete Aggregate, Drainage
Rock and Crusher Dust
CAPABILITIES
WOODSIDE (PLUTO LNG SITE B)
Rapid completed a large crushing and screening project with
Leighton Contractors to produce over 1,000,000 tonnes of
specialised fill materials in an eight month period on site at the
Burrup Peninsula in WA for the Woodside Pluto LNG Site B earthworks
project. This project involved the supply and operation of three,
two stage crushing circuits working 24/7, producing fill materials
and stockpiling up to 1 km away. The Burrup Peninsula boasts some
of the hardest and most abrasive rock types in Australia and this
necessitated the change out of manganese liners on the secondary
cones every 3rd shift. Despite this challenge, we consistently
produced over 6,000 tonnes per shift - without a major breakdown on
site throughout the project. Rapid processed and stockpiled in
excess of 1,000,000 tonnes of -50mm Basecourse and -22mm Roadbase
utilising a workforce of up to 50 FIFO employees working a
continuous 4/1 week roster.
CAPABILITIES
NRW (CAPE LAMBERT EXPANSION PROJECT)
Rapid Crushing was engaged by NRW to process 1,400,000 tonnes of
specialised fill material for bulk earthworks for the Rio Tinto
stockyard update programme at Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Cape Lambert
ship loading operations.
CAPABILITIES
CONCRETE AND ROAD MAKING AGGREGATES
Rapid Crushing has been a preferred crushing and screening
contractor to Hanson since 2006, at Hanson’s hard rock quarry in
Karratha WA. Here, Rapid has been producing Basecourse, Roadbase,
Concrete Aggregates and 7/10/14 mm Sealing Aggregates.
RAIL BALLAST AND SUB BALLAST MATERIALS
Rapid Crushing has completed numerous projects requiring rail
ballast and sub ballast capping materials, from local quarrying
operations.
STEMMING MATERIALS
Rapid periodically processes stemming materials as part of the long
term contractual arrangements at each respective client’s operating
site.
RAPID DAM CONTRACTORS
In addition to offering crushing & screening services, Rapid
has established a new service in constructing mine site tailings
facilities. This new company, in the Rapid Group, provides
expertise in tailings storage facilities; related mine site civil
construction works, and in particular, offers services in building
wet and dry lift tailings storage facilities, plus lined ponds
built to any size. The company also undertakes dam extensions, the
construction and raising of embankments and rehabilitation
earthworks. By having the strength of Rapid Crushing &
Screening the new operation gains immediate access to a massive
array of earthmoving equipment and capabilities of providing an
Australia wide service.
CAPABILITIES
MOBILE TRACK PLANT
Rapid Crushing maintains a fleet of purpose built mobile track
mounted crushing circuits that are best suited to smaller size
crushing campaigns of less than 500,000 tonne.
With the recent purchase of a track C160 Jaw Crusher, one of the
world’s biggest track mounted crushers, Rapid can cover most needs.
All track mounted crushers and screens are self-powered with
inbuilt diesel engines and hydraulics, so they don’t rely on gen
set or grid power. They are easily transported and commissioned
with remote controls for ease of loading and unloading from low
loaders and setting up in place. They are best suited to confined
areas and in applications where the plant needs to be moved short
distances during the crushing campaign for efficiencies in the
works.
MODULAR PLANT
Modular crushing circuits are suited to campaigns in excess of
500,000 tonnes and where the plant does not require re-location
during the project term. Being electric powered makes modular
circuits more reliable than their track
mounted counterparts.
CAPABILITIES
Rapid designs and fabricates all of the modules, attachments and
conveyor systems that house the crushers and screens.
All module crushers and screens are electric powered by gen set and
switchboards. They require cranes to set in place which makes
setting up more complex but much more reliable than the more mobile
options.
FIXED PLANT
Fixed crushing circuits are best suited to campaigns in excess of
one year duration and in excess of 1,000,000 tonnes per annum. This
type of plant is capable of producing over 1,200 tonnes per hour
and depending
on, material and product, can produce over 6,000,000 tonnes per
annum. Fixed plants have a heavier duty construction and are
purpose built for the specific application. Rapid has taken on many
production challenges and our fixed plant options always come out
on top. We build our fixed plants to the highest standards and with
what we believe is the largest team of experienced personnel and
management, we’re confident of you meeting or exceeding your
targets.
CAPABILITIES
