Or, some more monkey business would be to install Google Canary……………..maybe (?) it might play the videos for a few days until it starts to screw up. And in a
perfect world, I wouldn’t have to say all this, but I do because of this. And another computer mess: If you were there and don’t see yourself mentioned, it’s because my
computer/camera lost most of my pictures.
Our good friends Herb and Annie Greenwall live over the
hill.

This year, Herb and Annie’s Daughter and Son-in-law, Cat and Lyle, hosted a Burning Man event.
Herb wanted to be sure there were no security problems, so
he hired a Six Million Dollar Man disguised as a robot.
Ed is Herb’s executive officer in charge of park
maintenance and security, so he checks stuff like this to be sure no WD-40 is needed to keep the robot from being
squeaky.
Burning Man is kind of a big deal and folks have a good time dancing around and scaring away all the bears and
such in the neighborhood.
I found them to be very nice people and the forest rangers were very impressed by their responsible and overall good
behavior……………no mess left behind, forest fires started etc.
The culmination of the event is about burning the man that
they have created for the occasion e.g . This scares away any bears that were still hanging around
and hoping for any unattended food or laptops.
After Burning Man, Mark & Rita came from California and
Richard from New Hampshire.
I was once married to Mark’s mother, Fausta.
When we were all much younger (a few years before Columbus discovered America), Fausta brought Mark
(from California) to Texas and I gave him a guitar lesson.
Mark took the picture of us at the stove.
We be’in in them there hills………. (Like where I lived
when learned to make it)
We made Paella for our hillbilly pick'in and grin'in.
We messed around and saw some sights.
There were some tiny bubbles in the wine and this caused some of us to giggle. So we sang another song.
Gary and Cassandra came just in time…….
for Cassandra and Bella to cut some trees.
This resulted in a big trash burn bonfire.
Masako and Cassandra did all the work while the rest of
us told lies about the good old days.
Gary was an original Burning Man but he survived and this
changed his mind about selling their Dallas Heights.
We picked and grinned but this isn’t a real video because Google sold the real one to Vladimir Putin. You have to click on this link to see the one that I saved before Dick

in Firefox or some Microsoft Monkey Business.

Richard (who is Polish) and I used to play the Clarinet Polka, and then it sounded more like this………..beware, this version may wear out your shoe because it will make
your foot pat uncontrollably. All these centuries later, Mark is playing the classical guitar, and I’m playing the same old thing that Mark was playing in the picture above. Since that pre-Columbian lesson, Mark has become an accomplished
guitarist and he also sings well. Mostly just a bunch of drunks (especially me) but for
anyone interested, here’s the gist of some more monkey business (hint: Make Firefox temporarily default browser).

Rita brought her gun. She and Cassandra saw Dick Cheney
sneaking around in the woods.
So Rita shot him in the butt.
And just for good measure, Mark got him again in the other
cheek.
He ran away and hid in the guest quarters we always provide for him. We have an indoor toilet now but keep the
outhouse for Dick and similar ilk.
Mark and Rita’s Doggies need to go back to obedience school but like all such critters, and their cousins; they
don’t need to drink any beer to have a good time.
While back in Dallas, they weren’t worried much about
firewood, we always need it up in the land of the banshees
and werewolves.
Fortunately, Mark seemed to enjoy cutting it because I
was doing good to just walk.
Like snakes, there are thousands of species of mushrooms and only a relative few are poisonous. And like this one that Rita found, the bright red with white spots are like a rattlesnake’s rattles……..they warn, don’t mess with me. Unless you really know what you’re doing, don’t eat it. We have lots of others around that are safe and even tasty
e.g. The King Bolete, Shaggy Mane, Chanterelle, Puffballs, Morels etc. And I can make a grand pile of
Tapas like this one with any of them. As annoyed as we might have been by what we saw on TV, we avoided
committing any murders with bad mushrooms because we know that Jessica or Colombo would catch us.
We also had some fun with our good friends, Larry
(USAF-Major/pilot) and Myra Padgett.
Not before I made a copy, this video was stolen by Kim Jong IL, so it won’t play here either. But if anyone’s
interested: Good Stuff, Dallas 1, Dallas 2, Can’t Always Get, Get What You Need, Pick’in
Mark and Rita and Richard all had to go back home and get
back to work, but about then the Montaños showed up.
Every year, the family patri/matriarchs – Johnny & Toni, throw a grand, wing ding, family reunion party………..15-
20 trailers show up. And this is always my favorite event of the year………..anywhere.
Watching Johnny et.al, maneuver them into position is like
watching Ringling Brothers Circus setting up camp.
This party lasts for three days and gets bigger as it goes.
There are Lots of games of every sort.
The talent show includes all ages.
Toni tries to narrate but nobody pays much attention
because the lollypop she uses for a microphone isn’t very loud.
Sometimes Arturo hogs a lot of the fun and the neighbors up on the hill behind complain because no fun is left for
them and all they get to do chase the bears away and hang a lot of garlic to keep the vampires away.
But Arturo makes up for it later with his World Class Brisket……….buried in a pit and slow cooked for two
days.
Eventually all end up around a bonfire and then, things really get out of hand. Chattering in the background of
this video, Arturo and I have become good friends and I especially enjoy our chats because they are always in
Spanish.
When everybody leaves, some critters return………and
then some more (Bobcat).
Not like Johnny (who is world class), I’m not a good
photographer, but I got some shots of this big fella who hung around in our front yard, every morning, for a few
days.
We lost another friend last year. Melanie lived a very
difficult life with an exceptionally admirable, courageous and cheerful attitude.
As much fun as we had, for the first time in all the years, I was actually ready and needed to leave our mountain by
mid September. 2016 had been my worst health year ever .
