Aizu is well known for a small samurai town and a former post town along the trading route. This region is also famous for summer festivals, and many of them have been taken place for over250 years.

Many old style Kayabuki houses are preserved in this region. Shirakawa Village in Gifu is one of them and many tourists visit to experience old Japanese dwelling style. The most famous Japanese mountain, Mt. Fuji, is also located in this region.

There are a lot of modern and historic places to visit in Kanto Region. Many temples and shrines co-exist with modern architectures, and this creates very interesting scenery. Tsukiji Fish market is one of the most famous sightseeing spots and provides fresh seafood.

Ainu Culture is one of the indigenes cultures of Japan. To protect its unique and old culture, Shiraoi Ainu cultural village preserve the old Ainu dwellings and old practices.

Kinki Region:Kyoto and Nara has a lot of Japanese historical heritage sites,and Osaka has modern andhistorical sites to visit. Shikoku Region:

Shikoku is well known for the Shikoku Pilgrimage, which is a pilgrimage of 88 temple in Shikoku Region. Many historic temples still remain in this region.

Chugoku Region:Hiroshima is known for its atomic bombing during WWII. There is amemorial park in Hiroshima city. The shrine island called Itukushima Shrine (Miyajima) is registered as one of the three beautiful scenery of Japan.

Nagasaki is known for its atomic bombing during WWII. There is a peace park established in 1955.
