• Join us for a dynamic full day workshop. Dr. Laurie Elish-Piper will highlight new trends and guide us in translating assessment findings to increase literacy achievement. She will highlight practical instructional strategies that will support differentiated reading instruction for the diverse learners in our K-6 classrooms.
• Dr. Laurie Elish-Piper is an International Literacy Association board member. She is currently the Dean of the College of
Education at the Northern Illinois University. In her career as an educator she has been a distinguished professor and literacy clinic director, elementary and middle school teacher and educational therapist. She is a leader in literacy assessment, supporting struggling learners, literacy coaching and family literacy. She has co-authored nine books and has contributed articles to many prominent literacy journals including the Reading Teacher and JAAL.
