a non-stock, non-profit organization, founded in 1991 by a group of dedicated and committed parents and concerned physicians. It aims to offer support to families who have a child with Down Syndrome and to initiate, develop, promote, encourage and support programs and projects concerning Down Syndrome. DSAPI believes that the initial reactions of new parents that typically bear disappointment, sorrow, fear, guilt, confusion and anger can be replaced with positive attitudes of warmth, love, understanding and hope.

PROGRAMS

The Early Intervention Seminar was designed to answer questions of parents of children with Down Syndrome and provide important information and services. The program aims to help the child’s development and meet the needs of the child and the family at different developmental stages. Early Intervention is necessary to arm the family with the information needed to bring out their child’s fullest potential and to provide a checklist of activities to be done to assure the child’s healthy growth & development.

After Early Intervention, DSAPI offers various seminars to address the growing needs of children with Down Syndrome. These seminars are conducted regularly.
