2. FirstAid/CPRTraining:Immediatelycheckoninjuredpersonsandeitheradministerfirstaidorhavedesignatedpersondoso.

3. Announcements:Auctioneersshouldaskcrowdtoremaincalmandmoveawayfrominjuredperson(s)andaskemployeestoreturntotheirrespectivedepartmentareas.

4. Communicatewithvariousdepartmentssotheyareinformedastowhattheyneedtodo.

5. Obtainwrittenstatements.Haveperson(s)assignedtotakecontactinformationfromeyewitnessesandaskthemtogiveyouabriefstatementregardingthedetailsoftheaccident.Designateofficeswherestatementscanbetakenawayfromcommotion.

6. Insurance:Haveadesignatedpersoncallyourinsurancerepresentativetonotifythemoftheaccident.Besuretoincludenameofdriver,descriptionofvehicle,namesandextentofinjuredpartieswithcontactinformation.

7. FirstAid/CPRtraining:IdentifyemployeesthathaveFirstAid/CPR/AEDtraininganddiscusshowtheyshouldrespond.

8. FirstAidSupplies:Havefirstaidsuppliesavailableincludingblanketstocomfortinjured.Injuredpersonstendtogetcoldwheninshock.Alsoreducesspectacleandspeculation.

9. Designateapersontostaywiththedriverofthevehicle(ifnothurt,designateanofficewherethatpersonshouldgototakeastatementandstayawayfrommedia).Havethatpersonrecordastatementfromthedriver.

10.EmployeeMeetings:Discusswithemployeestheirresponsibilitytoactprofessionallyandorderly.Alertauctioneersthattheymaybeaskedtomakeannouncementstopatrons.

7. Media:Decidebeforehandwhetheryouwouldliketogivemediaaccesstogrounds.Designateaspokespersonfortheauction.Askotherpersonneltodirectmediaquestionstotheauctionspokesperson.Askemployeestodirectanyquestionstothespokespersonandavoidspeculationaboutcauseofaccidentorextentofinjuries.

8. Impoundanyvehiclesinvolvedintheaccident.Itwouldbewisetoleavevehiclesinvolvedintheaccidentwheretheyareparked.

9. Video:Ifaccidentwasfilmedinwholeorpartsaveandgivetolegalcounsel(eitheryourownorcounselfortheinsurancecompany).

10.SaleDay:Pre-determineowners/managersthatwillbeinvolvedindecidingwhethersalewillcontinuethatday.Determiningfactorswillincludenatureofinjuries,delayfromtimeofinjurytoresponseandexitofEMT,dealerattendance.

11.Cooperatewithclaimsadjustorandstaff.

12.Communicatewithcustomersindaysaftertheaccidentthatthesituationisundercontrol,properinsurancewasinplace,etc.

13.Communicatewithemployeesthefactsthatcanbesharedandaskthemtocontinuetoavoidspeculationwithcustomers.
