Dynamic Learning Tutorial 21: Create VLE content packs Creating lesson packs or title packs for your VLE
Entering the Manage DL area
To get access to Manage DL,
you’ll need to log in as a
teacher or teacher admin.
Please note that if your
institution is trialling
Dynamic Learning, and has
not yet identified a User
Manager, you will not be
able to access Manage DL or
create individualised logins.
Tutorial 16 will tell you more
about the User Manager
process.
Assign a lesson from the Manage DL area
Creating a VLE lesson
content pack can also be
done from within the Lesson
Builder, and there’s a
separate tutorial (Tutorial
12) to cover this. But
creating a SCORM 2004-
compliant pack for your VLE
including all the resources
from your title, or all the
pages, can only be done
from the Manage DL area.
Teachers, Teacher Admins
and the User Manager can all
do this.
Create VLE content packs
To create a Resources
content pack, click the top
button on the right.

Selecting the formula for your resources content pack
First select a title from the
top drop down. You’ll see
every title that your
institution is trialling or has
subscribed to.
Then, optionally, select a
section using the second
dropdown menu, and choose
whether you want to include
all resources or only student
or teacher resources.
Finally, select your VLE .
Exporting the pack
When you have made tyour
selections, the Export
resources pack button will
turn green.
Wait while your VLE pack is
exported.
Depending on size, this may
take some moments.
You’ll be asked to choose
where to save your exported
zip. From here, you can
upload it to your VLE in the
usual way.
If there are any resources that cannot be included...
You’ll get a message if, for
copyright reasons, there are
resources that cannot be
included in your pack.

Exporting a lesson
An alternative is to export a
single lesson. (This can also
be done from within the
Lesson Builder.) First select a
folder, using the first
dropdown menu. All folders
that contain any lessons will
be listed. Then select your
lesson using the second
dropdown menu.
Now click the Export lesson
pack... button.
Export your lesson pack
Now wait while the pack is
created. Choose where to
save it, as before. Your
lesson pack is now ready to
upload to your VLE.
Exporting pages
To export pages, click the
bottom button on the Create
VLE content pack screen.
Select the formula for your
pack, as before, and click the
green ‘Export pages pack...’
button. Depending on your
browser and its settings, the
pack will download, or you
will offered the chance to
open or save it.
Uploading to your VLE
This SCORM 2004 pack
creation has been tested
with Kaleidos, Moodle, Frog,
Fronter, Its Learning,
Studywiz and many others.
You should have no
problems uploading to any
VLE.
You can also use the second dropdown to go straight
to a list of available lessons, if you don’t know the
name of the folder in which your lesson was stored.
