Definition-drugs that alter a person’s mood perception, and behavior.

Depressant

Depressant-relaxes body: impairs memory and judgment.

Examples:?????

Examples of Depressant: Alcohol, morphine, heroine

ALL HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!

Stimulants

Stimulants- increase energy and alertness

Other Examples: Cocaine (depression and cardiovascular stress), Caffeine, and Amphetamines, Ecstasy (dehydration and depression, cognitive functioning)

-cause increase in confidence and energy

Hallucinogens

Hallucinogens- causes hallucinations and distorts perception.

Example: Marijuana, LSD
