Straight elevators (mode of action):

•Mesial application of force to the lower last molar with the convex part of the blade resting on the interdental septum and the concave part engaging the mesial root of the third molar , rotary movements are made to luxate or move the third molar out of

the socket.

•Mode of action:•The tip of the elevator is inserted between the

root fragment and the socket wall which will be removed by elevator force.

•Mode of action:•Buccal application: the tip of the elevator

blade inserted in the root bifurcation and the tooth is removed by elevation using the buccal cortical plate as fulcrum.

•Extraction of roots: the tip of the elevator is introduced in the socket facing the root until the tip engaged the root then removed by elevating force.
