During my first week I met with Liz, my academic tutor, and we put together a personal study plan. We had frequent meetings but of course I could talk to her anytime I had a question. My teachers were also really helpful and gave me regular feedback, which helped me improve in all areas. But it was much more than learning language skills. I discovered new ways of looking at the world and I hit my target IELTS score.

VISA and Immigration GuidelinesAll non-EU students should contact their nearest Embassy or Consulate to check if they require a visa to study in Ireland or refer to the Department of Justice website www.inis.gov.ie for full details of the online application procedure. It is the responsibility of enrolling students to provide documentation in accordance with the appropriate visa procedures as advised by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (www.inis.gov.ie) and/or the appropriate Irish embassy or consulate.
It is a requirement for all non-EEA and non-EU students who intend staying for more than 90 days to register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau. Registration needs to be completed within 30 days of arrival to Ireland. The Student Welfare Officer will assist the student with the required documentation and procedures. Students staying for more than 90 days must pay a deposit to the school for a recognised English examination to be taken before the end of their course.
Medical and Travel Insurance All students studying in Ireland must obtain appropriate medical insurance in their own country before departure and students are also advised to take out travel insurance to cover accident or loss of baggage. Medical Insurance can be arranged for non-EU students by the Institute on request.
Students travelling to Ireland from EU countries must bring their European Health Insurance Card with them. Non-EU students who require a visa to study in Ireland will need to submit full details of their medical insurance policy to the Immigration Bureau when submitting their application and
they are required to have adequate medical insurance valid for their entire stay in Ireland. The policy should be submitted in English or accompanied by an English translation.
Personal Insurance Students are not insured by the school or by the host family against illness, theft or loss of personal effects and the school accepts no responsibility in the event of such occurrences. Personal insurance cover is therefore recommended.

“ I would like to say thank you for all the support you have given.
First, I would love to thank all the staff in the reception and administration for their warm welcome, and thank them for their willingness to support and advise us.
Second, I am so glad to appreciate all the teachers who have taught me. I really enjoyed being in their classes. They are not just highly qualified they are also kind and willing to teach us. Moreover, they have made studying English very enjoyable by using several teaching methods and exciting activities with a sense of humour.
What I most appreciate is that they love teaching and I felt that if they could give us a copy of their minds, they would do. Also, I would like to thank the staff in the canteen for their cheerfulness and for perfecting their job.
The atmosphere in this school was very warm, all the students and staff had respect and love for one another, as if we were one family in a big house. If I am ever asked to recommend a language centre, I will immediately recommend Emerald Cultural Institute.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for investing in our future. ”

“ The experience of living and learning in a country like Ireland, immersed in English is incomparable, especially when you have the opportunity to learn in such a great school. My teachers were fantastic, the classes were fascinating, and not only did we learn English, but we also learnt history, culture, politics and lots more. I was very lucky to have studied in Emerald, I made friends that will be in my heart forever. Emerald is a big family, and from the moment you walk in the door and Ann at reception greets you with her famous smile, you know that it is not only business for them. Students are their priority and they care about them. Their commitment to us is something you won’t see everyday.”
