How can you go?1. Students must complete two years in their department.2. Students must have CGPA of 2.50.3. Students who have passed TOEFL exam or IELTS have a higher chance of participating in the exchange program.4. Students must pay for their medical/health insurance coverage in the exchange partner university. The health insurance can either be bought in country of the Partner University or need to purchase an international health insurance policy from their own country that covers medical treatments in there.5. The student is responsible for obtaining their visa from the Embassies. The International Office will help in the paper work but the university cannot guarantee that the student will get a visa and cannot interfere on behalf of the student.6. Students are responsible for finding their own accommodation in the partner university.
How can you go?7. Students who are selected to go on an exchange will need to pay for their exchange semester before they apply for a visa.
8. The academic year for US Universities start mid August and finishes late December.9. The exchange program is open to ALL EMU STUDENTS.10. Applications that have missing information or documents will not be taken into consideration.11. Students must write a one page personal statement regarding why they would like to be an exchange.(it must be typed).12. Short listed candidates will be required to attend an interview before the final selection.

• If you are selected to be an exchange student, you must come back once your exchange is over
• You cannot transfer to the university you are on exchange to. Our partner university will not accept any transfer applications from exchange students

• You can only go in Fall Semester • The Exchange Program is open to all departments;
however not all departments are offered by every exchange partner.
• We only have exchange for undergraduate students

How can I get a Visa?
• We help you with your visa requirements and application process
• Your J1 visa for USA and the rest of the invitations for other countries come to the International Office not personally to you
• Requirements of Embassies
1. A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the
applicant's intended period of stay in the United States.
2. A receipt showing that any necessary SEVIS fee has been paid. This fee must be paid BEFORE you come to
the Embassy for your interview. You cannot pay the fee at the Embassy or at a bank here in Cyprus. You
must pay the fee online at www.fmjfee.com and print out the receipt to bring to the Embassy.
3. A Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form DS-156, completed and signed. Select Nonimmigrant Visa
Application Form DS-156 to access the electronic version of the DS-156.
4. A 5cm X 5cm recent, high quality, clear, color photograph for each applicant showing full face forward

5. A Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form DS-157. Submission of this completed form is
required for all male applicants between 16-45 years of age. It is also required for all applicants age 16 and
over, irrespective of gender, from North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Sudan, Iran, and Libya.
6. All exchange visitor visa applicants and their dependents must complete the Contact Information and
Work History Form DS-158.

However, we strongly recommend traveling with 6 months validity on your passport at all times. 1.Owner of the passport who applies for any type of
visa is requested:
- to pay the fee for the visa decision in cash (TL) at the cash desk (does not apply to the families of the UE citizens)
- to fill in and sign the visa form (all questions must be answered)
- to stick one current photograph on the form (requirements related to the photo format are available at our Internet site, otherwise shall be rejected)
- to submit a passport (applicant's passport is required to be issued not earlier than 10 years ago and valid three months longer than the requested visa validity and to contain at least 2 unused pages for visa sticker)
- the separate application for each child with photograph in case of a journey with a child being registered in parent’s passport
- to enclose photocopies of the passport pages no. 1,2,3,4, which contain personal data and also those of used pages
- to submit previously used passports (the police report is requested in case the applying person cannot do so )
- to submit the travel health insurance (original and copy) of 30.000 euro value, valid in Schengen countries, for 1 or 2 entry visa the insurance shall cover the entire period of stay, for multiple visa the insurance shall cover the period of the first planned trip
