The Co-op Interview Process• Employers usually arrange interviews through the
co-op office.
• Sometimes they contact students directly -- pleaselet us know (in the loop).
• Take place by phone, video-conference, or in-person.
• Most take place on campus in CS/Engr offices,some on-site at employer’s location in Victoria.
• Some take place on-site in Vancouver.

Interview Notification ...• We use an online interview sign-up process
through MyCoop (“Sign up for an interview”)
• You will be notified of your interviews by email to
your Netlink or Engr account.• If you don’t use your Netlink/Engr account, you
must ensure it's active and forwarded to theaccount that you do use.
• Check the newsgroup(uvic.engr.coop.announce@news.uvic.ca) andespecially your email DAILY

Signing up for interviews
• Usually brief turnaround time to set up
interviews.• Interview sign-up on first-come-first served
basis.
• If avoiding class conflicts is a big concern,sign up quickly for interviews.

Conflicts with classes
• We won’t switch times to accommodate classes
• We will switch times to accommodate exams.
• If missing part of class, inform instructor inadvance.

Getting to the interview• Location posted online. On interview day, if you would
like clarification regarding your interview time, please
come into the Engr. & CSc/Math Co-op. Office, ECS 204.
• Find location in advance (day before).• Arrive 5-10 minutes early.
• BE ON TIME.
• If you are late/ill/missed the bus/have a flat tire ... CALL
THE CO-OP OFFICE! ph: 472-5800.

Job offers• Job offers are made by the employer through the
co-op office, not directly to students.
• Co-op emails the job offer to the student.• Student has 24 hrs to accept/reject offer.
• Student gives their response toNancy/Wendy/Shelley, who then tell the
employer.• Student is then sent an email from Cindy or
Megan, confirming their placement.

POLICY:• Students may only turn down 1 job offer, and
still stay in the placement process.
• Students who turn down 2 job offers will have tofind their own jobs, outside of MyCoop.
• If, in the interview, you decide you don’t want a job, finish it and do your best, then tell either a co-op coordinator or Cindy/Megan
• We will then withdraw you from the competitionBEFORE you are given a job offer. (Doesn’tcount as a turn-down.)
