Equine-Assisted Therapy News
Happy 2012 Everyone Have you broken all of your resolutions yet
Well EAT made a resolution to continue giving safe quality riding lessons
to all who might benefit and we have a dedicated team of like minds who
plan on keeping that resolution with all our might Meanwhile we have a beauti-
ful new indoor riding arena and education center going up at our Wildwood fa-
cility that will allow for classes to continue no matter the weather and the addi-
tion of some daytime classes and new programs including a class for LaSalle and
Wildwood Middle School disabled kids Wersquore excited with all the possibilities in
store for EAT this year There are a number of ways you can help us grow and serve
in 2012
Ω you can attend our Trivia Night Annual Egg Hunt or Poker Run Event all com-
ing up this Spring (Details enclosed)
Ω you can volunteer to help our participants enjoy a safe fun thera-
peutic lesson ndash download a volunteer application from our website

Ω you can enter into a matching gift program at your place of business
where they either donate for every hour you volunteer or they match any
donation you make
Ω you can earmark your United Way contributions to go to EAT
Ω you can register an e-script card at Schnucks 500015523 show it every time

Itrsquos not easy to stay involved in one charitable program for 5

Equestrian Center and honoring EAT with their sup-
port We had a great time and met so many wonderful
people and made some long-term connections

Thanks to Karen Zimmerman and Tiffany Martha who adopted Dewey amp Herorsquos which pro-
vided that their needs were cared for through the EAT Adoption Program
Karen adopted Dewey for four months and even bought him a beautiful halter for him to
wear proudly
Tiffany sent pictures of our Hero to her childrens
teachers at Christmas and adopted his needs for a
month in their name in lieu of the typical bottle of per-
fume or ornament
Who is on your gift list who really doesnrsquot need another
scarf or tie Make your gift a memorable one Wersquoll give you the picture and
bio of the horse yoursquod like to adopt to send to the recipient Let them come

thanks to Eagle Scout Zach Shaw and his Dad Robert
Zach chose to make this fabulous entry sign for EATrsquos
Wildwood location The sign is made of wood and the
graphics and lettering is made from horseshoes Thank
You Zach for this beautiful and creative sign
If yoursquove driven past our Wildwood location recently yoursquove surely noticed the hustle and
bustle of activity thatrsquos been going on out there Most noticea-
ble is the progress being made on our new Indoor Arena that
will protect our EAT sessions from inclement weather for many
years to come Take a look at the progress being made

This is always such a fun event and a great welcome to Spring EAT hides thousands of
eggs throughout the park for kids 2-10 to find Those eggs are then turned in to vouch-
ers for the EAT Country Store where the kids can go shopping for lots of fun non-
edible prizes Everyone goes home with something
Registration starts at 11 am the day of the hunt and the hunt starts at 1200 sharp
Great photo ops
For our horsey friends EAT is holding a Poker Run on the Chubb Trail May 5th (May 12th Rain
Date) at Crescent Farms Bring your horse to the Chubb Trail trail head on Allen Rd and be
ready to play a little horseback-poker with friends Price is $20horse which in-
cludes prizes for the best hands and lunch for everyone Registration form can be
found on our website wwwequine-assistedtherapyorg or in our April Newsletter

Wildwood location The sign is made of wood and the
graphics and lettering is made from horseshoes Thank

Saturday March 31st (Rain date April 7th)
This is always such a fun event and a great welcome to Spring EAT hides thousands of
eggs throughout the park for kids 2-10 to find Those eggs are then turned in to vouch-
ers for the EAT Country Store where the kids can go shopping for lots of fun non-
edible prizes Everyone goes home with something
Registration starts at 11 am the day of the hunt and the hunt starts at 1200 sharp

For our horsey friends EAT is holding a Poker Run on the Chubb Trail May 5th (May 12th Rain
Date) at Crescent Farms Bring your horse to the Chubb Trail trail head on Allen Rd and be
ready to play a little horseback-poker with friends Price is $20horse which in-
cludes prizes for the best hands and lunch for everyone Registration form can be
found on our website wwwequine-assistedtherapyorg or in our April Newsletter
