Hemingway’s Status• Hemingway was a celebrity
and he knew it. • He loved fame but eventually
became disenchanted with the status.
• His life was filled with three failed marriages, a debilitating addiction to alcohol, literary stagnation (at times), and eventually ended in his suicide after a full mental breakdown.

compared to Rudolph Valentino (sound
