Correction to “Application of Multiple Scales Analysis andthe Fundamental Matrix Method to Rugate Filters: Initial

In a previously published paper by Bataineh and Asfar,1 Fig. 5should appear as shown here. The phase factor due to the first-orderexpansion in (39) that multiples the scale z1 should be multiplied by�. In other words, the parameter s in (40) should be multiplied by � inorder to obtain the correct form of Fig. 5 as shown here. The correctedfigure is in agreement with the conclusion stated in the paper that thesecond-order expansion eliminates the spectral shift introduced by thefirst-order expansion shown in Fig. 3.
