DAY 1 TUESDAY 5 NOVEMBER 9:30 - 12:00 Board and Council Meeting (coffee available at the meeting)

9:30 - 12:00 Morning hike to the Abbey of San Galgano, the unique abbey without a roof situated in the Mersevalley, home to the sword in the rock. It is the first gothic church built in Tuscany, between 1218 and 1288 by the Cistercian monks as a sign of the popularity of Saint Galgano cult. In case of bad weather the hike will be replaced by a visit to the Museum.

Workshop 1: Management Planning Guidance, Henk Zingstra and Clive Hurford, Eurosite EMPEG
Following the presentation of the Eurosite Management Planning Guidance Portal in the plenary, this session will discuss the further development of this portal and the strategic orientation of the Management Planning Expert Group based on the needs of the members of Eurosite.
Workshop 2: European Peatland Restoration and Management Group including GoToMeeting link for people to dial in from a distance, Paul Leadbitter, North Pennines AONB Partnership, UK
This will be a combined live and online meeting of this group following its kick-off meeting in July 2019. For the first round of workshops the group members, and those interested to join the group, are invited to attend. In the second round also other participants are welcome.
Workshop 3: Financing mechanisms for conservation – tips & tricks from practice, Kristijan Čivić, Eurosite
A short exchange of ideas on how to generate/attract additional funding for the restauration and management of natural sites. Participants are welcome to present their case studies and we will discuss ideas afterwards.
