4.2 Product Standards and Guidelines
• Exemplis LLC’s industrial engineering and product development teams are constantly coming tomarket with innovative new products. As part of this process, these teams are incorporating thedisciplines and guidelines set forth by ANSI/BIFMA (ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 Office Seating, X5.4 Loungeand Public Seating, X5.5 Desk Products, and e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard), ANSI/HFES,GREENGUARD, UL, and BIFMA Level 1 & 2. As a large manufacturer in a very competitive industry,we continuously strive to adhere to all applicable testing standards and guidelines.
• All SitOnlt Seating and IDEON Soft Seating products, including any applicable Symmetry OfficeProducts, meet and/or exceed ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 Office Seating, X5.4 Lounge and Public Seating,X5.5 Desk Products, and e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard.
• All SitOnlt Seating and IDEON Soft Seating Products, including any applicable Symmetry OfficeProducts, meet and/or exceed ANSI/HFES.

4.3 Pricing
• Exemplis LLC is proposing aggressive discounting, including volume discounting, to the City ofCharlotte in order offer the best value possible to any future City customers. If a potential customerpurchases a certain number of our products in one order, they may receive additional discountingbased on total project list price. Please find our proposed discounting in Attachment 1 to Form 4.

Excmplis®• For purposes of this RFP, Exemplis LLC offers two methods of discounting:
o Drop Ship - Our products will be delivered by a common carrier to a Customer docko Inside Delivery - Our products will be delivered by an authorized dealer inside the Customer’
building designated on the purchase order
• Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers shall perform the installation (basic and expanded) services,design services, project management services, asset management services, and refurbishmentservices as stated in Section 4.3.2 of the RFP.
• Our authorized dealers provide the following value-added services to our customers:
o Application Consultation — Exemplis LLC works with best-in-class dealers to assist ourcustomers with finding the right product for the right space.
o Product Specification/Knowledge — Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers have a strongknowledge of our product offering and are the best source for providing accurate productspecifications for our customers’ own-unique environment(s).
o Space Planning/Layout — Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers have the latest space-planningtools to assist our customers in finding right seating options for their size and space.
o Order Placement — Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers will assist the customer with theirorder placement needs: either by placing the order to Exemplis LLC on behalf the customeror providing instructions on how to issue the purchase order to Exemplis LLC. Upon receiptorder acknowledgement from Exemplis LLC, the authorized dealer will inform the customerof the expected delivery and installation (if requested) date.
o Delivery & Receiving - Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers will manage (if requested) thedelivery process for the customer.
o User Orientation - Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers will perform user orientation (ifrequested) to the customer on how to take full advantage of the products’s offerings.
o Punch list/Audit - Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers will perform an audit of the customer’sorder after delivery and/or installation to verify order accuracy.
o Warranty & Follow-up — Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealer network will maintain contactwith our customers should a warranty issue arise and to affirm continued satisfaction withthe product(s).

4.4 Price Adjustments
• Exemplis LLC will comply with the City of Charlotte’s requirements stated in this Section by holdingour pricing firm through December 31, 2020.
4.5 Environmental Purchasing Requirements
• As an industry innovator, Exemplis LLC’s executive management team views sustainability asessential to its core business and values. We engrained that philosophy from the top downorganization-wide. Our lean manufacturing practice, along with ‘Rapid Continuous Improvement’processes provides the foundation of our sustainability strategy by linking eliminating waste,conserving resources, responsibly designing product for durability and extended life and offeringan ‘End of life’ take-back program.
• All SitOnlt Seating and IDEON Soft Seating products have been tested and certified by theGREENGUARD Environmental Institute for meeting safe indoor air quality emissions recognized bythe USGBC LEED rating system. Furthermore, all products have been certified to the even morestringent levels required by the GREENGUARD Children & Schools in accordance with theCollaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS). We also demand all of our textile vendors to beGREENGUARD certified, to ensure that our products will have none or little VOCs.

Exmplis®• Exemplis LLC’s manufacturing facility, processes and practices are world class and by the nature of
being a “Mass Assembler” we are inherently going to be greener than those manufacturers who dosome of their own vertical component production (i.e. dipping frames into caustic chrome).
• Exemplis LLC is committed to improving energy conversation and efficiency which includesreducing our overall energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. It is our policy tocontinuously improve upon and regularly monitor our energy performance; acting in accordancewith all current and future local, state and national legislation required of our operations in thisarea.
• The Exemplis LLC Supply Chain team has built-in goals and incentives to source components withhigher recycled content and from regional partners. On average, SitOnlt Seating and IDEON SoftSeating products have anywhere from 10% - 20% recycled content in the finished product. Withany component we buy, besides the percentage of recycled content, our greatest priority is thequality and craftsmanship of the component.
• Reducing the environmental impact of our products begins with our new product developmentprocess. All new products or major design modifications on existing products go through our Designfor Environment (DFE) process which seeks to incorporate energy and water efficiency, renewable,recycled, recyclable and biodegradable materials, and to account for end of life impacts. As part ofthis process, we also incorporate Design for Durability/Upgradeability (DFDU) into all products.Our products are designed to have a long and useful life and are manufactured to withstandrepeated service, repair and handling. To facilitate maintenance, servicing and reassembly,replaceable components are standard features of our products, making them easy to refurbish andupgrade for multiple uses by the original or future users. We are also one of a few manufacturerswho stands behind their lifetime warranty and will, upon approval, pay for the labor on warrantyreplacements.
• In 2014, we achieved the ultimate recognition for our sustainability efforts by attaining ANSI-BIFMAe3 Furniture Sustainability Standard LEVEL 1 certification for our plant and all SitOnlt Seating andID EON Lounge product. • Within the past year, Exemplis LLC attained the highly coveted ANSI-BIFMA e3 FurnitureSustainability Standard LEVEL 2 certification.

• Exemplis LLC agrees to submit new products and services (if applicable) to the City of Charlotte fortheir review and approval.
4.7 Safety
• Exemplis LLC’s authorized dealers shall adhere to OSHA, State and County Safety OccupationalHealth Standards, and any additional applicable rules and regulations when performing services forCity of Charlotte and Participating Public Agencies.
4.8 Warranty
• Exemplis LLC offers a best-in-class warranty to our customers. Unless otherwise noted in ourwarranty policies, our products are covered by a lifetime warranty. 6. Delivery: Company must state the normal delivery time (in calendar days) and any options forexpediting delivery:
• Exemplis LLC’s nimble size and lean manufacturing operation mean speed in sourcing, warehousing,assembly, and logistics that other manufacturers just can’t match. This makes us the fastest in theindustry, shipping orders in 2, 5 or 10 days.
o SitOnit Seating Products:
• Ships within 2 days using express fabrics.• Ships within 5 days using all other fabrics.• Ships within 10 days using leather.
o IDEON Soft Seating Products:
• Ships within 10 days using express fabrics.
o Symmetry Office Products:
• Most Symmetry Office Products ship within 2-3 days.
• Standard shipment transit times vary depending on a customer’s location. On average, the typicalshipping time is 3-10 calendar days.
• Standard shipments are made via common carrier, unless otherwise specified. Special routing requestsmade by a customer or the consignee may result in additional charges.
• Standard deliveries are dock-to-dock and are scheduled to occur Monday through Friday between $ a.m.and 5 p.m., based on our published transit times.

Expedited service is available at an additional cost. We will work to arrange a specific deliverytimetable with the carrier. Expedited services contracted with carriers are done solely at the request ofthe customer.
7. Warranty: Company must detail the following:
a. Applicable warranty and/or guarantees of furniture and installations including any conditions andresponse time for repair and/or replacement of any components during the warranty period.
• Exemplis LLC warrants to the original customer that the Product(s) will be free from defectsin its material and workmanship when used in a single shift (standard 8-hour day, 5 days perweek). Exemplis LLC will, at its option, repair or replace with a comparable part or product,without charge to the original purchaser, only defective parts or products found defectiveduring the warranty period. If requested by Exemplis LLC, the original customer will returnthe part or product for review with freight or other shipping charges prepaid by ExemplisLLC. This warranty shall be effective for the applicable time period beginning from “date ofmanufacture” as shown on the manufacturer label underneath each product.
