Youth Chili Cookoff: Your Amazing Generosity!
The FPC 2020 Youth Chili Cookoff was a total success in every aspect! From the great tunes we were able to enjoy, to the amaz-ing chili entries, it was a fun evening for all.
The youth group, along with Mark and Dena Sowden, send a spe-cial thank to everyone who worked so hard to make this event pos-sible. This includes our WNL kitchen crew, Dana Corbit, Yvette Smith, Kristi Swoboda, Gary Weinburger, Steve Tibbetts, Allen Haines and the band Sound Therapy, Roy Kessler and the coun-ters, all the Cook-off teams, everyone who came out to support the youth. Also, a special shout-out to our amazing emcee, Jay Swoboda. All of you made this event the success that it was. We raised $7,172! This will go a long way toward helping keep mission trips affordable for our youth. We thank you so much for your par-ticipation and generosity.
New Youth Study Begins Today
The youth will be studying The Five Love Languages of Teens, beginning today. This is a teen’s guide to helping understand their own love languages, what motivates and inspires them, and how to be a friend and communicate with your family in a way that makes sense to them.

Eleventh Annual Sew-a-Thon
Sew Much Love, the eleventh annual Sew-a-Thon, will be held from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29th, in the Family Life Cen-ter. At this all-day event, ladies will make as many children’s quilts, for Bags of Love, as
possible. The bags are given to children in Montgomery County who are removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. These bags contain a quilt, a stuffed animal, age/gender appro-priate books, toys, games, and toiletry items. In 2019, 154 Bags were distributed. Don’t sew? No problem, we have a special place for you. A delicious lunch, prepared by Shirley Dukes and her team, will be served at 12:30 p.m. to all volunteers. Registra-tion will begin on Sunday, February 9th.
WOW Bible Study
WOW’s study of Daniel Part II will resume on Wednesdays, in the FPC Library, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Come join us for the fasci-nating prophecy segment of Daniel. No prior study is needed, and if you've missed anything, we can make it up! The class will conclude the study on Wednesday, March 4th, followed by a luncheon on Wednesday March 11th.
There is a Mystery Afoot!
Yes! There is a mystery to be solved, and you are invited to join in the fun of solving it. “Love is a Deadly Verse” is a dinner theater presentation that will take place on Saturday, February 22nd, at 5:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. The cast is com-prised of well-known FPC thespians! The audience will be instrumental in solving the mystery. Dinner will be served, and seating is limited, so save the date! Stay apprised, as more details are forthcoming.
