Father Edward’s Notebook
Dear Parishioners,
This upcoming week there are many beautiful memorials of the Saints that the church will celebrate. On October 1st we remember St Therese of Lisieux, known as the Little Flower. Her autobiography, “Story of a Soul” has touched many contemporary saints and St Therese is known for sending roses to people at the completion of a Novena. Jacob Rudd, a Catholic musician who did a concert at Rosiere recently had a beautiful song about his rose. Look for it in YouTube. Search Jacob Rudd Roses, and I’m sure you’ll find it. October 2nd is the memorial of the Guardian Angels. We are reminded of how these angels guard and protect us each day. And October 4th is the memorial of St Francis of Assisi whose love for animals, creation, and prayer for peace is known to so many. As we remember these saints, let us be inspired by their lives and ask their prayers. Autumn Blessings, Fr Edward Looney Monthly Intentions
Pope Francis' September Intention That politicians, scientists and economists work together to protect the world’s seas and oceans. Bishop Ricken's September Intention That students in our Catholic schools discover and follow Jesus Christ as their best friend each and every day. Father Edward's September Intention In gratitude for the catechists who willingly give of their time to share the love of Jesus with our religious education students.
