Make shoe and boot laces with 550& 650 paracord. Add metal aglets tothe ends of the cord to give them aprofessional finish.

Simply place the cord in the aglet andcarefully crimp shut with pliers. The"teeth" on the sides and bottom willhelp keep the cord inside the aglet.

These metal aglets are approximately7/8" long and work with 550 and 650paracord.

Metal Aglets vs Molten Paracord,Blistered Fingers and a Burnt

Tongue

I make my own shoe and boot laces with550 paracord. Being the professionalthat I am, it’s important to me to form anice tip on each end of my paracordlaces. I want the tip to go through theeyelets with ease - like Congressspending taxpayers money! Here are myinstructions for getting blistered fingersor worse - while making the perfect tip:

Heat one end of the paracord shoelaceto the molten stage. You know, wherethe sheath and the inner strands melttogether into a molten gob of goo. Nowlick your thumb and forefinger. In factjust slobber all over them – it willminimize the pain and blisters caused bythe next step.

Quickly roll that gob of molten goobetween your thumb and forefinger untilyou form a tapered tip. Remember timingis everything! If you do this too soon themolten goo will be too hot and gooey.Your fingers will blister and hurt andrequire you to lick them to ease the pain.In extreme circumstances some of themolten goo hurt on your finger could endup on your tongue and cause it to hurttoo.

When this happens instantaneoussputtering usually occurs and theoffended finger is now trying to help getthe molten hurt off your tongue. Pleasedon't think I'm insensitive because Ihaven't mentioned the other gyrations, motions and utterances (swear words)that may also occur – but hey, craphappens.

I kinda, just maybe, mighta outta, havestarted out saying a little patience isgood before playing with moltenparacord material. However, if you're tooslow and it has cooled too much it won't

mold well. In this case heat the end tothe molten stage and start over byexercising a little less patience andexperiencing a little more molten hurt.

Hope this was helpful. Always trying youknow. If shaping molten gobs of paracordgoo isn’t for you, I suggest going with themetal aglets.
