Features and BenefitsConsolidation Points are intended to provide increased flexibility and economy for installations where open office spaces require frequent reconfiguration. Instead of re-routing or installing new cable from a telecommunications closet, horizontal cabling can be accessed and repositioned without re-testing by means of a Consolidation Point Enclosure and Consolidation Point to Telecommunications Outlet (CP to TO) cable assemblies. For example, when moves, adds and changes (MACs) are required between fixed cabling and moveable furniture system layouts, particularly when solid floors are installed.

The Consolidation Point Enclosures feature 6 or 8 shuttered PowerCat 6 modules, housed in a rugged graphite grey finished steel enclosure, which protects the incoming cable, but allows ready access to the Consolidation Point to Telecommunication Outlet Links. Designed for easy installation in ceiling voids or under floor, the product is TIA/EIA TSB75 compliant. Two enclosures may be interconnected, allowing for expansion.

The DataGate Category 6 connector is also a feature of the Consolidation Point enclosures. This superior RJ45 IDC includes a unique integral shutter that not only protects the connector from dust and contaminants, but the ingenious spring-loaded design also ejects improperly seated patch cords. The DataGate connector is dual colour coded for either 568A or 568B wiring schedules and is RJ11 compatible.

Suitable for high-speed data transmission, the DataGate Category 6 connector has been designed to exceed the highest electrical performance standards in the industry and has been independently tested and verified by ETL SEMKO for Category 6 component compliance. The DataGate connector is also backwards compatible with C5E systems.

Solid Cable Assemblies provide the essential interconnection between the CP to the TO. Factory assembled and tested, these links are manufactured using solid cable and are terminated at each end with an RJ45 plug, allowing the assembly to be cut in half on-site prior to terminating.
