DRUGS NOT BUGS ARE ON OUR BILLS

Greater than 90% contamination rate of dollar, 5’s, 10’s

and 20’s with cocaine.

Technique used to identify substances on bills is typically

gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.

This technique is used in toxicology tests for over 2

billion substances. Most drug tests are performed

with this technology.

The technology is a combination of two techniques.

The gas chromatograph separates materials and identifies the

chemical groups to which they belong, primarily, by atomic mass.

The mass spectrometer identifies the substance by its chemical composition, structure and its

atomic mass.
