How to use the Mac OS

(for Windows users)

The Dock

• This appears on the bottom of your screen– It can be hidden if you’d like it to be– It can be magnified as well

• Very easy to use - just one click to launch apps

• Can put any applications on it you want to

• Apple symbol in the upper left hand corner

• System Preferences• May have desktop

shortcuts• Trash Bin on the dock

• Start button on the lower left hand corner

• Control Panel• May have desktop

shortcuts• Recycle Bin

• Same controls as it would be on Windows Control Panel

• Sensitivity can be set for the mouse if desired to

Applications Folder

• This would the same as Add/Remove Progams on Windows

• This would show what is all installed on the Mac computer

• Can access this folder through the Dock on the far right side next to the Trash

Applications Folder

Dragging an application to the Dock

• Simply open up the applications folder

• Select the Application you want to drag

• Click and hold down the mouse and drag it down to bottom of your screen into the Dock

• Right click the application in the Dock and select “Keep In Dock”
