GEOSPATIAL PERSONAL AD
About Me
Name: Parcel Fabric
Status: Single – but can be split and consolidated. Very structured but can change on you at the drop of a dime.
Descripton: Slim outline with distinct identifier. Not very attractive by itself but has a lot of internal qualities that are not shown in the map.
Looking For: Possible relationship with other data to complement slim figure. Easily found using address / name based searching.

GEOSPATIAL PERSONAL AD
About Me
Name: Ortho Image
Status: Single – Requires a lot of time and preparation to get ready. Not a cheap date!
Descripton: Very attractive full colour image – with WOW factor. Provides a lot of context but is not easily found without relationship with other data.
Looking For: Relationship with other data to ‘find myself’. Looking for new markets to show off my ’20cm’ resolution!
When Parcel meets Ortho …
Relationship Build
• Need to find users• Need to have application• Need to maintain autonomy• Need to maintain image of
‘togetherness’ but really live separate lives.
The Results – Zoom2It Plus
Agenda
• GeoWarehouse Online Overview• Application Integration?• Managing the Partnership• Ortho Image – Technology Update
• Web application (www.geowarehouse.ca)• Provides access to Ownership information to
over 4 million properties in POLARIS.• Title Data contained in the GeoWarehouse
database is updated every 10 business days• Map Data is updated daily• Currently – 40,000 registered users
Demo: www.geowarehouse.ca
How it Works
HTTP request• Security• Time• User Information• PIN
Benefits of this approach
• Simple – HTTP request• We use the PIN as the common link to pass back
and forth between applications• Applications and Data are separate
• Less need to coordinate upgrades/ changes to applications
• User’s don’t know it is a different website / server
Lessons Learned
• Integration – applications should not be reliant on other side being available.
• All applications change – try to put together an environment which upgrades can be done independently
• Introduction of new content to the ‘spatially challenged’ should use the KISS principle
• Always remember the target audience• Nothing beats having ‘good people’ to work with
The Results – Win-Win-Win
Summary & Keys to Success
• Fair distribution of risk, responsibility and reward• Solve the business issues then write the legal agreements
with good lawyers• Ensure all parties have necessary resources to work
toward the goals• Be sensitive to differing agendas• Develop win-win solutions• Maintain good governance through open communications
The Results – Win-Win-Win
First Base Solutions• Utilize GeoWarehouse functionality to locate – (Address / Owner Name)• Access to new user base resulting in new revenues• No need to establish market presence – it already existed
Teranet• Extended service offering to users• Interactive Map Viewer with Ortho imagery• Additional subscription revenue
GeoWarehouse Users• Access to aerial imagery integrated with sales and parcel data• Ability to navigate between maps and ownership information• Ability to purchase imagery and parcel
Parcel Processing for Zoom2it
• Re-project parcels to UTM Nad83• Create a join between the parcel shapefile and
the basic property report• Add additional information• Create a spatial index for speed• Update shapefiles on each web cluster

Syntopic Imaging
Why there is only one perspective center for all sub-images

Pixel Correlation
• Better Matching• Better Classification• More Redundancy
Correlation is 2x better than
